Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

That's interesting. Yes, the panhard rod can re-adjust that to make it centered, but I'm not sure if that would be causing it to pull to the right or not. I would think that as long as the axle is pointing straight forward, even if it is a little off-center, that it should track straight. But I'm not an alignment pro either.

I'm not either lol. Just trying to see my options before if I actually need to purchase one. Called the shop again and mentioned what was going on. They recommended I swap my front tires. Did it and maybe it seemed to help. So it could just be a tire pull unfortunately.
So it can be down to panhard bar or tires. I'll keep yours in mind if I need to get one. It can't be adjust while actually on the vehicle, right?
Thanks for the help too!

Still deciding but so far
Front:
C59-300

Rear:
Not sure if I should get the C59-599 or C59-505. Has anyone picked one over the other?

We’ve had our Dobinson’s Suspension on for less than a month. 4,000 miles later and we are extremely happy with the lift, handling, and ride quality. I should have done this on day 1. Thanks to Mike at Dobinson’s and Kyle at Treaty Oak Off Road!

Great to hear you like it. What lift did you do front and back? It looks like you kept your stock UCAS, any alignment issues? Also does your trail have KDSS?

That's right, you undo the frame side, drop it down, and rotate it there to add or remove length.

You would measure how far off the truck is from side to side, cut that in half and add that to the length of stock panhard rod. Then transfer that length to the new panhard and bolt it in. Just measure it from center to center of the bolt holes.

So if you're 3/4" over to one side, you would add 0.375" to the length of the stock panhard rod, and use that as the length for the new panhard rod. Once installed, it should be even.

Most would go with the shorter C59-599 if only lifting the front by 2". It all depends on what weight you're planning to add and if you want to maintain the rake in the vehicle for loading up on big trips and that, or if you're just looking to help level the truck out.

I think if I had to do it all over again, I would have just done the C59-302 front springs, but I was afraid I would break my budget if I had to do UCAs too...

Here you go bud :yo:

And look, the spare is now on the new rear bumper!! hahaa

I really wish I would have went with your 3" heavy coils and suspension all around. The height looks great! It would have saved me so much time and money trying to figure out what setting I would like compared to my 6112s paired with 700lb springs. I've torn down the front countless times. It's funny how I'm now contemplating this when I've gotten it just the way I like it.

Sounds good! Thanks again for this info!

This is why I try and save all the installed photos here:

Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum - Dobinsons Mike's Album: Dobinsons parts installed with part numbers

So that people can see all the heights before they buy. It's just hard to keep up with it all, and I don't record tire sizes usually either.

Anyone come from 5100’s with factory coils and rear springs. I’m currently running 5100 @ 1.75 and looking to get some 302/505 and pairing with my existing 5100. Just wondering if the ride will be better then the oem preloaded fronts and oem rear coils

Ok...I'm trying to compare the Dobinsons options vs like...a Toytec Boss.

Stock 2018 ORP. Adding ->

RSG sliders
RCI full skid package
285/70/17 KO2 in C load
SCS ray10 gunmetal

Not planning on adding roof rack or rear bumper.

However...I may eventually add a slimline bumper and winch.

Now...I'm trying to go for a more level look. I'll probably never tow something so not worried about reverse rake. Looking to spend $1400 or so (so $2000 or so installed).

Was thinking 2-2.5" front lift (trying to avoid purchasing new UCAs for now). The BOSS system has a 2" back lift, so...I won't be able to get completely level with the BOSS system. However....the front lift are adjustable coilovers. I don't believe the BOSS system is "long travel" either.

I did call Dobinsons in Miami and they said you do have front springs that are adjustable but they aren't listed on the first page of this thread?

I was liking the idea of front adjustable so it will work now with no winch and I could adjust them later if I do get a winch.

Anyway, so ->
1. Is there a front adjustable option with Dobinsons? If so, how does it compare with the BOSS offering?
2. IF I'm going for a 2-2.5" lift..that means...I dont' even need to worry about "long travel", right?
3. If I do get a front adjustable strut...if I get a winch...would I be forced to buy a slightly heavier coil?

1. No, but if you use bilstein 5100 shocks you'll be able to adjust the spring perch height if you ever go back and add a winch.
2. Correct
3. Not really. You could get away with adjusting the ride height like I mentioned in question 1.
