Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Looking for some feedback on this setup before I pull the trigger.

5100’s all around (zero setting up front)
front C59-302
Rear c59-505
New UCA

2018 OR w/out KDSS. No extra weight on the truck and would like 2.5 -3” in front with still somewhat of a rake. My current rake is 2” (20” up front and 22” in rear, hub to fender).

Thanks.

That's a super common setup, 2.5" front and 1.5" rear

Thanks, any insight on how this drives on road as compared to stock? Off-road I would assume it’s an improvement.

Thanks.
You'll have to wait for someone to chime in that has that combo.

I know that since the 5100s are digressive valving, they are firmer on the road than the Dobinsons twin tube struts and shocks because of the different valving type.

On and off-road changes drastically for the good. Nose dive and roll gone, on ramps to the interstate improve. Only off-road I have is beach ruts, gravel roads with holes that you would slow down in a stock ride. I feel the more speed you have the better the float. Didn’t install the UCAs yet. Didn’t have them initially during the install and alignment was no issue. They are in hand if the ride gets squirrelly.

Just added this photo to the first post to show the 6 different color combinations Dobinsons has, depending on the coils chosen.

Thanks and the pic helps.

By chance have you measured the achieved lift front to back? It looks like you may still have a little rake which is what I would prefer to keep, but maybe not the 2” difference I currently have with stock.

Dobinson 2" lift

I finally got the Dobinson 2" lift installed, C59-302R/GS59-700B in the front and C59-327R/GS59-701B in the rear along with Diff drop DD59-527K and spacers to adjust the KDSS PS59-4030 front and PS59-4025 rear.
So far I like it a lot.

No measurements taken. I’ll grab some to see if there’s any difference. I’m sure there is. I think 505s is want you want. 325 is what I want to move up too. I have different weight issues, having the 3rd row, heavier spare, rack, sliders, skids and lots of kids. This setup still allows 285s with the right offset. Trimming was minimal to the front bumper. Shaved less than 1/4”. FN pro wheels are fine, I mounted SCS wheels and had all types of rubbing.

That’s with 265s and OEM TRD wheel’s offset. No rubbing or trimming done.

Crikeymike are the IMS shock/struts replacing the MRRs?

I am budgeting to go from my GS struts/shocks to an upgrade next year. Is it better for me to do IMS (money saving) or MRA (fully adjustable)? I searched the thread, but I didn't see a good comparison as to the advantages and disadvantages of each. Just curious what's best for me to upgrade to...

MRR's (adjustable height with resi, no adjustment) are being replaced by the MRA's (w/resi and 3-way adjustable).

IMS is the non resi version of the MRA's.

I've got 2 separate threads for the 2 new monotube shock options:
Dobinsons IMS Struts and Shocks - Adjustable Height Monotubes - 5th Gen 4Runners

Dobinsons MRA - 3-way adjustable struts/shocks w/resi - 5th Gen

Hi Mike

Thanks for all the info. This convinced me to go with Dobinson instead of icon. I joined so I could PM you about the discount code, but I guess I can't figure out how lol. Is there a way you can message me from your end?

No I can't, it won't let me until your post count gets higher. just send me an email to [email protected]

I've been wanting to make this video for a really long time, as I end up explaining it over the phone or by email all the time.
Hopefully this helps someone out when they have questions about strut assembly.
