Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Anyone with 300 or 302 front springs care to post a hub Center-to-fender measurement? Preferably 2006+ V6 but I’ll take anything.

My front has a Daystar leveling and rear has 599. The 599 took my rear up 2” from stock (my springs must have sagged like crazy). I have no idea how much lift from my current setup a 300/302 setup would give me and I’d like to figure that out.

I had stock springs, and put 302 on the front, and got 4”. But I had 150k on stocks, so I may be 2.5 over stock due to sag. I put 505’s on the rear, and got almost 3”. The ride is fantastic and the truck sits level.

Any dual-rate coil options for the front end? Maybe a 600/700 coil or 550/700?

No. We tried 3-4 times to make it happen, but it just wasn't working well, and with not much difference between the 2 rates, it seemed not worth the time to make them, so we scrapped the idea.

Maybe not so crazy? Stock front springs for the V6 are 13.4” long, the 302’s you put on are 15.55 inches long. That’s 2.1” difference at roughly the same spring rate (580 OEM vs 586 Dob) and with the 4runners front suspension multiplier of roughly 2:1, that would equal about a 4” lift. @DobinsonsMike can you shed some light on how Dobinsons came up with the 2.5” lift estimate given the above info? Thanks!

Here are some shots of my new setup.

It's Dobinsons C59-350 w remote Resi in the front, and their C59-677v in the rear.

Perfection. Very supportive, good ride height.

Well crap, I didn't think they had a resi shock for the 4runners otherwise I would have got some :(

Sorry bud, I haven't been promoting the MRR's since we haven't stocked them yet. We've been selling them by special order and air freighting them ($$$$).

But we will be getting stock in the spring, so I'll most likely make a new thread with details about them later before they show up.

Got my 701's installed yesterday afternoon. These springs are stiff! Once I lifted the axle to a certain height it was lifting the body off the jack stands! I'm going to have A LOT of weight in the back (900-1000lbs) fully loaded once I get my drawer system. I may have to drive with all my stuff in the back till that gets put in as I'm sure it'll be stiff. You can see the difference in height between the Dobinsons and the Overland Icons. Thanks to Mike for getting these out to me so quickly. Hope to have her running today then it's 500mi of baby driving till the new gears are broken in.

I need to ask, what are you carrying that makes up 1000lbs? Are you planning on wheeling with that much weight because you might need to consider upgrading your rear diff to something larger than the Toyota 8".

I don't disagree with you...at all. But with a 250lb (est) drawer system, R TT, awning, rear steel skids, rear Wilco, larger spare, fuel, water, fridge, tools, camping necessities, food, beer, my overweight ass, etc it adds up. It might be closer to 800-850 but I wanted to go heavier rate first and my Excel sheet stated I would be close to 1k. I'm hoping to shave some weight in other places. With that said...Im not a rock crawler. I could if I wanted to as Im "prepared" for it but I do more stuff like forestry trails and backwoods shit. I'm not out doing Rubicon or crazy crazy Moab stuff. Know what I mean?

Got these put in my 2006 V8 today. Replacing original suspension that had 180k on it. Front coils are c59-314. Rear coils are c59-325.

Will get some pics up on my build thread once I get my wheels and tires in with measurements.

Are those Dobinson springs? I thought they only came in that teal blue color....

Hey guys, putting together a post here for the definitive information thread about all of the components we make and offer for the 4th Gen guys. The 5th Gen guys have been having fun over here, but I didn't want to leave you guys out.

Mike, I had a shit experience with Toytec and asked for this level of advice before I got into my 'Ultimate' 3" lift that's frankly a bunch of marketing BS; it can't even handle my camping gear let alone the sliders and steel bumpers. Once I get the funds together I'll be reaching out. Just know that your knowledge and efforts to be open about your product's capabilities has won my business; I appreciate it.

Sure thing man, no worries. You might just be able to upgrade the rear springs and maintain the other parts of that kit, but whichever way you plan to go about it, let me know and I can work out what would work better for the extra weight.

Curious to learn more about these MRR's.

Icons seem to be very highly regarded, but seems like Overland Tennessee likes his MRR's more.

To me I was very highly considering the Bilstein 6112's and some other rear damper, when I'm ready to replace my XREAS. But maybe these would be worth considering too... although I expect their price will be a bit more as a full kit.

What's the general lifecycle for rebuilds on them?
What sets them apart from the competition?
Although I get this is a big picture thing and no one aspect makes it whole superior to anything else, but any advances compared to other monotubes, like bilstein, fox, icon, like piston, damping curve, seals, shock oil, etc.?
