Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

2007 4R w/ Radflo 3" 2.5 suspension. Currently running All-Pro Offroad 3.5" rear springs to support 3" lift holding up rear 4x4 Labs rear bumper with dual swing-out tire carrier & 2 jerry cans. While these springs keeps the truck level when loaded in the back, when I attach my Hiker trailer, the rear drops 1". All-Pro does not publish the weight capacity of their springs.
Sooo...before I pursue an airbag-inserted-into-springs solution to level the truck when towing, I am curious about your C59-701V springs. Would they be able to keep the rear up when trailer attached?

I'd like a 3" lift and I've got a Shrockworks steel front bumper with a warn winch, I plan on a rear steel bumper with swing out spare. I've got heavy duty bud built bump out sliders with the steel plating. I carry a Kuat 50 lb bike tray sometimes (the bikes would be another 20-70 lbs), a Thule 16sqft Skybox and haul about 200-300 lbs of camping gear.
I'm running the Toytec 'Ultimate' 3" now with Total Chaos UCAs (frankly my front looks like it's stock height right now...the Toytec kit is a joke). What set of springs and struts should I be considering?

Yes, they should be able to. They're taller than any of the others I'm aware of on the market, and everyone that is running them has maintained the height they have wanted.
Your regular around town height will be taller though than what you have now, most likely.

Can you share a photo of how it looks now? The front coils on your current setup just mustn't be keeping up with the added weight properly.
I think you need to go with our 730LB front coils, same as Tennessee Overland is running, so C59-350 with GS59-220 for 3" front lift, then C59-677V 3" rear with GS59-575, and add bump stops and rear brake line if you don't have those already.

How tall are they? I cannot find the specs on the Amazon product page, nor on the Dobinsons website.

You looked too far away, the answer is in post #1 of this thread. 500mm free height
C59-701V - Variable rate, 600+ LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift, long travel. 500/500mm, 210-245LB variable. Designed for those with heavy full rear bumper, tire carrier, roof rack, RTT, drawers, and fridge. Rides very well with all that weight, as well as when loaded even further.

Yes, 2.5" is still ok on the 221 struts. Anything more, and it's better to go with the GS59-220 struts (longer length) and use a shorter coil, as it has a taller coil seat.

Here is my Dobinson suspension setup with their long travel rear. Dont mind the missing rear bumper, I took it off to finish up some welds and paint it.
When loaded down with the weight of the bumper and spare tire this suspension rides amazingly well. I cant recommend this set up enough!

Just pm'ed the OP with some questions. Currently running the shrockworks bumper and Toytech ultimate coilovers. They are coming to an end as I have had them for nearly 80k miles now. Was wondering your thoughts on what would be comparable to them as I like the stance and they seem to handle the weight well and the stance is just right?

They say they are only .2" thick whereas most aftermarket links are .25" or more. They aren't the strongest to be dragging over rocks but better than stock.

Looks good man! I just ordered those JBA arms myself and I'll be ordering the Dobinson rear shocks and coils here soon as well!

They come with poly bushings installed, but also high flex natural rubber bushings (need to be pressed in). And on the frame end, you can unscrew our link and add a johnny joint or whatever else is your favorite link and just screw it into the arm. I'd recommend to run the rubber bushings in both positions for better flex of the arm and less stress on the mounts, and go with the joint of your choice on the frame end if you want more flex from that joint.
They're 5mm wall, that's close to 1/4" thickness (0.2). Sure, not solid steel, but definitely stronger than stock.

Just replied to your message.
For 3" lift on a V6 with 150LBS on the front, GS59-220 struts with C59-302 would be the right combo to be sitting at the correct height. And we can ship them preassembled, so you can swap out the front in just an hour or so.
Got my springs in last week, they're beefy! made the car ride beautifully though, i got the 677 in black, granted i had OME 895 which couldn't handle all the new weight of the back bumper but the 677 made the car feel like stock again, super drivable, would definitely recommend if you guys are looking for something that can handle the weight of a rear bumper plus more.

That's great. Can you let us know how much weight you've added on the back, and what your hub-to-fender measurement is on the rear?
I've had several people ask this week for the 677V's, but we need some more real-world feedback on the 4th gen's for final ride height with extra weight.
From hub to fender each side is 25 1/4'' and thats with the OME Trim packer on the driver side, in terms of weight i believe the CBI bumper and attachments is at 235lbs, and the spare tire is about 80lbs so total 315lbs.
