The clocking ring is great. It's recommended to go with a 2" lift, IIRC, but I only had 1.5". I didn't have any kind of support in the back of the case, which looking back I should have added something small to the back of the crossmember I made. I will next time.

Like I said, I would go with the Lefty instead of the ring though. Great for a "budget" flat belly, but save up for the Lefty.

Must be nice to be cleared hot. Lol. If I try and "get approval", mine complains. That's why I just do covert ops.

Yeah she knows that modding and wheeling is what keeps me sane so after 10 years we kinda haggle for stuff lol. I also quit my vices that she absolutely hated (ie chew) on the premise that I get to actually do something with the truck.

I finished reading about the fuel tanks. Gonna go down the hill here soon to civilization to get a camry tank. It might fill on the back side but with a body lift it will probably fit and fill.

So, long time coming, but finally got around to working on the headlights.

Details of the Kit:

FX-R 3"
55W
6500K bulbs
SwitchBack Halos
Gatling Gun shrouds.

Followed [MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION]'s write up, but had some issues.

First issue, I don't know if it was me, but I COULD NOT for the life of me get the damn things to power up with just the battery off the truck. Tried everything I could think of, but just couldn't get them to power up.

So, I tried to level them out on the truck. Which, led me to my second problem of marking them. The first time wasn't straight. So, I tried something different, and it worked pretty damn well.

I took a 3" piece of 3/8" square wooden dowel, and put it under the projector. It worked pretty damn well. I had to use 2 pennies on the driver side, but it was all level.

I then used a skewer dipped in green paint to mark the holes on the housing.

Don't have a whole lot of pictures, but if you don't have a garage, or can't get them to power up (like me) it's going to take you a couple days, instead of a few hours.

Had to trim the shrouds, so here's the pics of them.

And here they are with one coat on them:

I still need to do at least one more coat of paint, and wrap the light in foil or aluminum tape.

Still not powering up?

For an OP test you connect to the car battery (not an inverter) to the ballasts positive and negative, with the projector already connected to the ballasts and it should light up.

They power up on the truck, but will not power up off the truck for some reason.

Using the battery in my living room. I haven't used an inverter or anything. Just tried wiring it straight to the battery in every conceivable way I can think of. Just would not turn on.

Yeah. I thought so too. But, they do work on the truck. Maybe it's because of them being 55w? But that shouldn't matter with the 12v straight to it. Oh well.

But, they're bright as hell. Can't wait to get them finished up and aimed right.

Some stuff I've been working on in my down time.

There's so much stuff I need to do, and I kind of bounce around. The fact that money is tight doesn't help. I do what I can with the materials I already have.

Bought a bunch of metal a few months ago with my brother.

5 sicks of 3/4" square tube, and 8(I think) sticks of 3/4 or 1" Sch 40 pipe. I'm not home, and I can't remember what one it is.

The Sch 40 is for my roof rack. The Sch 40 was like 20 bucks a stick, and DOM and HREW were more like 40. So I went with the Sch 40. I don't plan on having anything extremely heavy up here, so I'm not worried about it.

The 3/4" square is for my 1st gen roll bar.

I started working on a system for it, but was rushing it too much, and didn't get it square at all. Decided to re-do it. Changed a few things up. I like it better than it was before.

It holds (5) .50 cal ammo cans, which are 11" long, 5.5" wide, and 7" tall.

These ammo cans are going to hold all of my sockets, extensions, and wratchets, both 3/8" and 1/2". Don't really have a need for 1/4" on the truck.

I need to make a "kick-stand" for each corner, because the stresses of the full cans bends the slides, but it shouldn't be hard.

Anyway, pics.

Hoping to get it just about buttoned up tonight.

I used a couple of old gypsy racks to make my shelf and I plan on strapping mk19 cans on the top of the shelf.

I also just wanted it for trips and such so I can maintain the dd status. It all bolts in and comes back out.

I just haven't finished the mounts yet lol....or mounted the roll bar.

No real word yet. The board has started but I won't know anything till mid sept and then after that on orders. Long damn process.

I have it all measured out....lol. I'm going to use the seat belt mounts as my anchor points and run bolts through. Then it just comes to supporting the shelf right. I really gotta update my build instead of clogging yours lol.

I don't like boards. At least I have 6 months if I don't get promoted. I would like to say I will get promoted but military boards are funny things.
