Does anyone else's steering wheel look like this?

It's not the end of the world, but I'm wondering why my steering wheel looks like it's been made with two different types of leather. My trusty saleman tells me he checked other 4Runners and all their streering wheels looked like this. I'd like to get a second opinion from '03 and '04 owners here.

My steering wheel doesn't look like that. Mine looks like the bottom part of yours all around. It kind of looks like your steering wheel is half leather and half rubber (like the standard steering wheel on the SR5).

Same here mine looks like the bottom of yours. Looks like they stiched two covers together. I would go back and have them redue the steering wheel cover.

Mine looks a lot like that. No big deal, really. The texture is going to smooth out after a few thousand miles of driving anyway.

Thanks for the replies... I guess it's good to know I'm not the only one with a funky steering wheel. I'm almost glad in a way because after my experience with the local service department, I wouldn't trust them to swap steering wheels and not screw something up.

Mine is like that but I just ignored it. At 25000 miles, I have very few complaints about my 4Runner.

My biggest is the exhaust fumes through the rear window. I wish there was an easy fix (reroute the exhaust???).

I just noticed that mine looks like that ('04-SE)- a cheaper grade of leather on the bottom perhaps.

I have my exhaust turned out the side; it helps but if you really get on it with the rear window down, you will still get some fumes. I think no matter what you do this will be the case.

I have the solution, don't drive with the rear window down Act like you own a Landcruiser that does not have a rear window that goes down.

My 2004 Sport isn't like that. It looks like all the leather matches on the steering wheel. I can take a pic tomorrow if you'd like...
