Does Cruise Control have a fuse?

Hi Yall!

Can anyone help suggest how to troubleshoot my cruise control? It's not working at all. It was working fine up till about a year or two ago and then, bang; it just quit. I can still drive but, I have no cruise control which is a pain on long trips. Is there maybe a fuse in one of the fuse boxes I could check? Thanks in advance for any help!

BTW - I have a 2002 fwd

This is not a simple system. There are 5 fuses related to the Fuel Injection, Engine Control Module, and Speedometer functions that are all part of the total package. If you have some experience there are some things to check, otherwise, probably left to someone with more knowledge on these things.

If, by chance, you have a manual transmission, cruise won't work if your clutch spring is getting weak and won't hold the clutch pedal up the last 1/2" or so. Other than that, yes it's likely fuse/electrical issues.

I have a manual trans and have both of these problems. My cruise dash light comes on but it won't engage. I'll have to check the pedal. A friend of mine who use to work in a Toyota junkyard said there is a box under the dash that goes out. I forget what he called it.

If the light comes on, you're probably OK electrically. Hold the pedal all the way up with your left foot and try to set the cruise. When my spring started getting weak, I could set it, but it would cancel over bumps on the highway. It got to the point where it wouldn't even set, the pedal was sagging too low.

Thanks for this bit of info. That is my problem.
