does my car have an alarm or what?

so a few months ago i bought a clicker to lock and unlock the doors/alarm, to find that my 4runner never came with those options,( i called toyota with vin) and before i didnt even think i didnt have one cause one night my roomates told me my car alarm was going off? but anyways today i was at the gas station, i locked my car, went inside to pay for gas came out started pumping gas....annd i tapped on the window and and the horn starts going off,and lights start to flash? wtf? do i have an alarm or what?

Or you have some serious gremlins in your electrical system....You have an alarm system.

yeah its kinda scary...i thought hands down i have keyless entry/alarm cause the alarm goes off yet i buy the clicker off ebay and find my car dosent have any transponder computer....the electrical is pretty clean, i think atleast, where can i find the alarm system? and how do i set it? ive found that unlocking my doors disables the alarm immediatly...

From the factory, 2000 4Runners could have wireless entry but no alarm. The alarm was a dealer option and was the RS3200. This is the manual:

If that is not what you have, then it is an aftermarket add-on and you are on your own.

I changed the link from one for a RAV4 to one for a Taco. I think the one I have up now may be a better match than the one you quoted, but that is up to you. Good luck.

Beats me, I don't own one. I just have the TSB that says what system goes with what 4Runner.

fun...lol yea i was gonna get a viper keyless entry/alarm/remote start installed in the future....that is after i get my lift and new tires...
