Oh man I'm drooling, that stuff looks so good!!!!
veloindy said:[BQuestion: Now that you've "improved" the suspension. How does it ride compared to the stock X-REAS? Obviously it's lifted, so that's an advantage. But, if you were buying a new 4Runner, would buy an SR5 or the Sport model? Does it lean or feel more top heavy now?[/B]
RL Lemke said:I purchased the SE because I wanted the bigger Lexus brakes, the 17" wheels (I always keep factory wheels), and didn't want the extra stuff that came with the Ltd version. Xreas was very attractive too - only later did I learn how expensive it is to repair at the dealership. Oh yea, I like the scoop too.
The ride is better than stock, and much better than with the spacer lifts I tried. I feel better on freeway ramps now than I did stock. Mind you, it is not the same as the Z06 I have driven.
Regardless of the amount of lift you dial into these coil overs, the ride and drive is superior to stock. But then, you might expect that for the $2,200 cost of the parts and installation labor.

You've probably posted this somewhere else, but how did you mount the lights on the front? Light bar?
02Runner said:That set up is sweet!
I give you a ton of credit. Tracy (Rocky) had mentioned to me on YT that you had beaten everyone to the punch with this set up.
02Runner said:But I'm wondering with the current set up you have, how far do you think it's possible to lift the front? I'm guessing nearly 4" or so.
RL Lemke said:Yes, I would like to find rear coils that didn't require a spacer. Maybe that would allow for too much articulation, maybe not.
NE? Heck, I don't know. Anthony and I talked some time ago when I told him about how the Toyota of Plano tech disconnecting the Xreas when installing the NE lift. He immediately went to his site and blamed all my issues on that.
Starting a small business is always difficult. Without a sound moral base to the business model the result will be unfettered greed. Blind ambition. It's such a shame as Anthony had such a good start with the support of this list.

RL Lemke said:This is great news. What would most excite me would be long lasting 3" lift rear coil springs. Then as an option, the right sized air bladder for those times I am carrying, or towing, a heavy load.

Since your new setup, you said many times how you are glad to be rid of the spacer lift in front. Knowing what you do now, if you had to do it over and the coil-overs were not an option, would you still do the spacer lift again. Just curious because you kept saying how bad(harsh) the ride is with spacers. Thanks.
