Didn't everyone make fun of that guy for putting those on his car?

Hey someone made fun of me?:crybaby:lol.

I think they look fine on the 4Runner and they sure look better than a bunch of door dings. They have already saved the truck a few times.
I would put them on any truck, but I would not put them on a nice car like a Corvette or Porshe.

i actually was going to look you up and ask you about those side moldings. So it's been at least 6-7 months, and you still got the moldings? I assume they haven't fallen off, and it sounds like they have saved your ride a few times. So you would still recommend them?
 
They are still on and they are holding up fine, no paint fade and they are still firmly attached to the truck. I try and park away from everyone but there are so many people that just don`t care, that it`s nice to have some protection. If they are installed properly they should last the lifetime of the vehicle.

okay cool. Thanks for getting back to me. I'm sold on them. Even though, i love the "lines" of the 5th gen, i can't believe they didn't add some protection to the side of the car.
 
Antman's story reminded me a buddy of mine who had just picked up the Tiburon from the shop.. and who's car was used as a "bounce board" for some little prick.. he was literally hitting his door hard enough that it would hit my buddy's door, and bounce back.

that day, we learned that a steel toe boots are able to leave a sizeable dents in the vehicle panels...

haha. How the hell did you find that? lol that was funny when he talked about "fugly". I personally dont care for the black, they would look better red, but, he said, he likes them..
 
When i was in high school, my parents bought me a honda civic to go to and from school. I had the car maybe a month and i was sitting in a CVS parking lot waiting for my friend to buy some items. I'm talking on my phone when this lady in a brand new white bmw parks next to me, even though i was several spaces away from everyone else. I have no tints on my windows, and i was backed into the space, so when she pulled in (on my drivers side) it was obvious she could see me. She literally kicks the door open into my door, leaving a nice gash/dent. I rolled my window down and said "excuse me but you just hit my car". She doesn't even flinch and sarcastically says "Opps sorry" as she's walking away.

My friend comes out and i'm like this f**king lady just smashed her door into my car. He goes, "pull out of the spot and wait for me, i'll take care of this" So i pull out, and watch as he backs up a few steps then lunges and kicks this ladies car door as hard as he could. I swear it looked like she got t-boned the way the door folded. I never did get to see her reaction as we left. But i can imagine she wasn't pleased, and probably learned a valuable lesson about respecting peoples property that night.
 
I figured since Kingpin disclosed what a ...um... penis I am, I'll share another true story. Same truck as in the dent/coffee/seat story-
I was at the mall Xmas shopping- oh joy. When I arrived back at my truck, I observed that some idiot in a Volvo had parked against the curb directly behind my truck. No matter how many times I tried there was no way to get out of my parking space. I called the Police. Private property they told me. I found mall security and they were like " What would you like us to do?". I said- "Tow the son-of-a-you know what. They would not. So, I waited and waited and waited- 3 hours. Finally the guy parked next to me arrived on the scene. I was able to get out after 5 or 6 back and forth sessions. Sweet revenge. My truck was a manual tranny. I backed the left rear corner of my steel bumper into that Volvo's passenger door and slowly let out the clutch- and floored it. My truck was hopping up and down so violently my radar detector fell off the windshield. I looked in the rearview, and stuff was literally flying out from under the Volvo's sun visors. His door didn't look all that nice when I pulled away.
I never did get the scratches on my bumper fixed...
 
I was parked at the local market when some kids, in what must have their parents Escalade, parked next to me. I had my family with me when one of the idiots from the other car decided slam his door into the side of my car.

The deal breaker was when he laughed as he is walked away... I am sure he or his parents were not laughing the next day when they saw their passenger door...

No apologies are necessary, I have thick skin and I agree that the black moulding on that 4Runner is not a good match. I will also say that if the owner likes it, thats fine because he paid for it.

Spring is here and no more snow for at least 8 more months, it`s all good!!!
 
FSRbikr98, I hope you made/make that guy your best man...or at least Godfather to your children

dpr422, I hope that kid learned something that day, the easy way I might add... I'm sure a few people out there would've left a dent in his forehead instead of his door....

and Antman- those two stories have had me laughing harder, longer, than I've laughed in a very long time~ and I can totally picture your truck hopping across that Volvo! After 3 HOURS? I'd have cut all 4 of his tire stems while I was at it... what a "penis"-head! lololol He totally got what he deserved
