Door sensor issue

Any of you out there have an issue with your door sensor? (the one that tells you when your door is open or closed) it has started to stick. sometimes i'll get home get out, shut the door, and lock it twice to cut the lights off and i'll notice that they won't go off.. i'm very familiar with this as i just had to replace the front 2 on my 97 avalon for the first time ever 5 months ago.. and my previous 98 gs400 had to have the back 2 door sensors replaced also. i'm just surprised that it's doing it this early on my 2011 trail.

That is a bit surprising, they don't usually seem to go bad from what I have seen.

What you can do is do a simple check with a DVOM and see if its functioning correctly (or has excessive resistance.)

My passenger side sensor stopped working a couple years ago. Found out when I unlocked the doors, threw my jacket (with keys in the pocket) in the passenger side door, then as I was walking around to the driver's side heard the doors lock again. Found out that day that the 5th gen is tough to break into short of smashing a window.

if i wiggle it around, it'll eventually show correctly.. but it's the exact same issue as on my avalon that i just had done within the last couple months. just for the sake of not killing the battery by accident is why i'm replacing it
