I almost always leave mine in 4. I will shift into 5 on long flat stretches at 65 MPH but not too often.
I actually get really good gas mileage while towing- typically 16-17 MPG (My Titan would see mileage in the 9-10 range while towing...)I just take it slow and steady.
Only issue I have is the tranny temps I'm seeing with the Scanguage are really high. 235 at times in the summer with the A/C on in stop and go traffic. The number comes down rapidly after the spikes though so I doubt the reading is a true reflection of the fluid temp.
I would say around 2300 lbs. It's a small boat.
For temp control.
I'm just about to install my B&M tranny cooler. Do you happen to have any good shots of how you ran your lines (i.e good shot of it exiting the radiator etc.)? I've seen a few pictures on this forum, but it does not definitively tell me which is the hot/cold lines. Also, without your filter, would you have needed to buy more hose than what came with the kit?
I thought it important to follow through with the factory 3/8 inch lines. Basically you disconnect the blue marked line and run to your cooler with the return line going back down to the metal line on the passenger side bottom front of the engine. Just don't disconnect the red marked hot line.
