Drum Brake Help

It sucks. In this instance, the parts are literally made wrong. I'm not sure what the deal is there.

Adjusters

Can the adjusters go bad? Mine have 275k, and my brakes have gone out of adjustment three times since June. They will be nice and tight and then it's like I have air in the lines. Emergency brake wouldn't hold either.

I imagine they could wear out just like anything else. I would think it would be easy to determine if that was the case. If the teeth are worn down on the adjustment screw to the point where the adjustment lever can no longer hold it in place. Mine was actually missing the adjustment lever and was doing pretty much the same thing you have described. Are you positive that all the parts are in there?
