I think I walked away from Discount at $1000 after $60 rebate and that included installation and 4 certs. I used the fact that online retailers don't charge tax as another bargaining tool. Couldn't be happier with the tires too!

I'm not 100% sure, but I remember a while back a rep from Discount saying that they will either honor a price match or give you their special discount, not both. This was a while ago and I'm not sure how correct it is, but might be something worth looking into. I'd call a discount other than the one you're going to so they aren't tipped off about that rule.
Agreed. A little noisier at speed than the Toyo AT IIs that I had previously, but the awesome factor in the snow and the copious amounts of complimens I get are well worth it.

They have a LOT of leeway in the margins on those tires. They will just key in a lower price. I don't bring in ads or anything else. One tactic I use (and it makes me look cheap, or poor, but I don't care) is look around at prices online, etc, educate myself, including the Discounttire website and then take in cash that leaves me just short ($60 short give or take) of the lowest price I could figure it up. Let's say I figured that with tax and certs, etc, it was gonna be $955 - I'd walk in with 9 hundreds and leave with my tires installed.

I just ordered a set from my local Discount Tire store. They will be here wednesday but with my school schedule this week ,I cant get them put on till friday. I was quoted $836 installed out the door for LT 265/75/16s. Next will be new struts/coils.
That's a great price. I'd be happy if I can get them for that much.

well, I was going to get the Duratracs but my wife showed me the latest doctor bill that came in and that killed the duratrac deal,just too much $ right now:sobbing:. The good news is that my buddy is a manager at a Firestone store and he set me up with four 265 Destination ATs, mounted , balanced and warranty all for $600!! My wife and I have a Firestone card with a very good credit limit, plus any purchase over $299 is interest free for 6 months and on this set of tires I get a $50 mastercard gift card and four movie tickets to some Turbo movie.
I really wanted the duratracs in a bad way but I really needed tires right now and this was an awesome deal so the T4R is riding on 4 new Firestones. I will post some pics tomorrow.

sorry about the doc bill blowing the decent tire purchase my man, i fully understand how that kind of things sucks.....!!! i sincerely hope your experience with the "destination A/T's" goes better than mine, i will NEVER go back, i'll buy new tubes for my bicycle before Firestone gets more money from me for their tires.... :flamethrwoer2:

I ran the Destination ATs a few years ago on a ZR2 Blazer I had and they did pretty good but they did seem to wear a little faster than what I expected. If I didn't need tires so badly I would have waited a bit longer and saved some more $$ and bought the Duratracs but for $600 (minus the $50 Gift card =$550) for 4 Destination ATs, if I get 40,000 out of them ,I will be relatively happy. I really like the Duratracs though.

How were you guys able to get a $160 rebate? Online I've seen a $60 rebate from Goodyear on the Duratracs but where did you find the extra 100? $730 is an excellent price for them!

I'm not sure about the $160 rebate, but I do know that they will double the rebate if you pay for the tires on a Goodyear credit card. I'm getting $120 for mine (maybe a little more since I'm buying a 5th tire for my spare).

They had an additional $100 rebate if you got a set this Fri or Sat.
