Easy Weekend Mods

Best thread in the 4th Gen section

New to the forum, just wanted to say that this is best thread in '4th Gen'. Like others, I feel like my to-do list just exploded for my new rig. Will have to hide this from the wife, I told her this wouldn't turn into 'another Jeep project' that spends more time in the barn than on the road. :bowl:

If you're on the fence about changing your cabin air filter, here's what mine looked like before I put a new one in:

Interesting! How would this effect emissions testing? Anyone in CO have any issues with our new emissions testing after this mod??

It has nothing to do with emissions, its the filter that filters the air your vent pulls from the outside when you turn the air on in the cab. Its behind the glove box, access from inside the cab

I now possess a rear-view camera, a USB flush mount plug, a new CB radio, and roof rack box for my accessories...
that ALL need to be installed.
Plus, I just ordered a full LED light kit, a hitch step, and a new license plate for the front.
Now, all I need is a weekend where the wifey doesn't have OTHER plans for me.

This thread makes my head spin! I have been a T4R owner for about 2 months now, and I'm itching to mod things. I have a 2005 2WD V8, and I have already installed an auxiliary battery and Gobi Stealth rack. I have a cheapo 42" light bar, which I will install once I get my wiring and mod plans together. I'm looking into a Busmann relay box for switches under the hood.

Here's the question: Out of the mods listed in this thread, what will be the most beneficial and cost efficient for a NOOB like me?

Seatbelt ding off mod!! It was the first one I did, and I love it.

I had the Gibson kit. Sounded great, really nice mellow growl that got louder at high rpm but nothing you'd get pulled over for.

Hey T-Man, do you still get the sulfur smell when the rear window is down with the new exhaust? Mine is Trrrrble and am looking at fixing this annoyance soon.

I ditched my catalytic converters, so no, but even with the duals pointed out the side behind the tires it will pull it in, mostly when slowing down.

Satoshi Grill Mod

I finally got to do the Satoshi Grill Mod over the weekend. Took about 4 hours (not counting rests, water and bathroom breaks)

Took it out to Texas coast ....:biggrin2:

I haven't read this whole thread so I'm not sure if anyone has posted these part numbers. This is a very easy repair. First one light went out in the climate control and soon they were all out. This dealer has all the bulbs for $39.99 shipped. They arrived in about two days. My dealer charged me $6 for one bulb and it was not the one burned out. It took about 15 minutes to do it all. I pulled the panel off and changed the bulbs in the house in air conditioned comfort:
