I appreciate the kind words on the video. I was surprised and excited to see him post it up out of the blue lol. He was often really far behind me on the road and I was wondering why he was so darn slow. Turns out he was filming haha it all makes sense now!
Anyway.
I picked these adjustable rear UCAs up from Toytec because my pinion angle is a tad steep in the rear as it is. It causes felt vibrations at highway speeds when the rear isn't loaded down. It's fine when carrying my normal gear but with my rear drive shaft about to be shortened they will be even more crucial.
In the days leading up to our last trip I was looking to increase storage, organization, increase our sleeping space, and keep the weight of the gear as low as possible.
So I started building phase 2 of the sleeping/cargo platform! This is installed with the rear seats removed and can be easily taken out with or without removing the rear drawer system.
It gained us a huge hinged cargo space and 2 behind drawer cubbys.
I can now also sleep my whole 6 ft self way more comfortably and still reach the reach heat controls.
My wife and I used and slept on this rough draft of it for the 4 nights out and wheeled with it installed just fine.
Still a work in progress. I need to tweak a few things, paint and trim it. I'll also install a magnetic latch and gas lifting struts to hold the top up when opened. But all is all I'm quite pleased and being able to sleep with all out gear inside, organized, and easy to access was sweeeeeet!
Tons of other stuff going on right now but not quite ready for picture sharing.
Also as you may know. 3rd gens are up for this months T4ROTM. Ya I'm in it strangely enough. If you haven't already vote for one of the sweet sweet 3rd gens up this month! All of them are killer and worthy! Voting seems real dang slow all together.
