Looks like you had a great time. Would have liked to catch up with you. Although the area lacks in challenges it makes up for it with the scenery. Weekdays are always better. Did you camp in the truck and at what elevation?
It most definitely does man! We actually only wound up spending one night in Ouray because the rangers office told us most of the other major trails had just been closed due to snow. I got your text really late after heading out. Next time I'll get in touch earlier and try to spend a bit more time further south! I'll definitely be back next year.
Ya we spent all 4 nights sleeping in the back of the truck. Most of the nights were around 10,000 feet (ranging between 9,000 and 11,000) it got below freezing every night but we are pretty used to that sorta thing from backpacking and the truck is nice because we can start it and crank the heat in the morning before we get out haha.
