eBay uniball control arms?

Interesting find but can't say I'd take the chance on them... how's the saying go? "If it's too good to be true, it probably is...

If we're throwing out old saying. How about "nothing ventured nothing gained"? I'm gonna pick a set up soon.

I have a write-up Im finishing that anyone buying these will want to read, I should have it done by next week...if not sooner.

I ran into a few caveats that keep these from being a simple bolt on solution.

I am definitely anxious to read your write up. I had the ebay page open and was trying to figure out how to justify the cost to the wife....I think I can wait to see what you have to say.

ETA: Are you installing these on a 3rd gen? If so your write up won't necessarily apply for us 4th gens?

It will apply concerning the bushings, bushing sleeves, and zirk fittings. Ill try to get it all done by this week.

It is easy to justify the cost as upper ball joints are in the 60.00/each range and will need to be replaced at least twice before the uni-ball needs replaced. The catch is, you need to be willing to go through the checks to make sure these are ready for install.

Im honestly not trying to be vague...I just don't want to have to type it all twice.

nice write up for sure. My ADD kicked in towards the end but I don't believe I saw how much additional caster you received out of these.

I noted 04run&gun posted his specs at 3.2° and 3.4° he's sitting on a 2.5'' lift though. I'd be more interested in seeing the numbers with someone running a taller 3-3.25" lift.

My understanding is the real gains are from a larger range of motion compared to the stock UBJ. While offering only what is needed in alignment adjustment, which very little.

in other words you haven't gotten an alignment yet? lol

The main purpose in replacing the UCA's it to regain drive-ability on road, added gains are as you mentioned, increased coil clearance throughout suspension travel as well as slightly additional overall suspension travel.

All I need to know is if these's control arms will set me at 2.5° or greater (preferably closer to 3°) caster angle while I'm sitting on 3-3.25 inches of lift. not sure how much difference 3/4" of lift makes in caster between 04run&gun's setup and mine.

LOL, your right...however I have never had an issue with alignment with the stock UBJ at 2.5-3"ish lift any how. This may be a significant difference between a 3rd and 4th gen.

I'll update my alignment findings as soon as I get it done...which will be in a couple days. But my speculative answer is that these arms account for lifted geometry. I compared them to Camburgs arms, personally, and they had the same geometry.

So here is the glamor shot.

And here is the shot that actually matters.

So my brother ran some trails in NC again recently with no issues. Except for a dent in his front fender from sliding off a rock into a rock. Terrible to see a 2014 taco with a dent in it already. That all said the UCAs have been fine.

With mine installed now I can attest to the fact that the handling is better represented by the alignment sheet. However a little side effect I have noticed is more brake dive and bouncing on the freeway. Must be that these are just much more flexy/loose compared to the factory. I knew I was overdue for shocks but now it's for sure.
