I really appreciate all the info and suggestions this really helps me a great deal. I never thought about the possibility of issues with customs and switching out the bolts. I am going to reach out to this contact and see what my options are. I tend to set my mind on one upgrade after the next and obsess over it. In this case I wish I didn't lol. I requested mine raw and will update if they followed through on that (if/when I receive the parts). They may have already allocated one for me before final payment so not sure what to expect.

I had heard someone else allude to requesting parts uncoated, but that the discount offered is only $20. I tried to confirm with Rorck but he didn't respond to that particular question ( I had a few in my email). I lowered my payment by $20 and it appears that I'm getting one, so I assume it worked out.

In any case I planned on sandblasting and getting a nice tough satin black powercoat done myself.

I figure that I'll spend some time making sure everything fits together with no obvious dents and dings before prepping and coating. I think in-person quotes are always better.

I also plan on replacing as much hardware as I can with stainless flanged bolts, to cut down on the amount of washers needed. I can stick a bunch of these in a 2x4 to get all of the heads powdercoated at the same time.

Can you describe your fitment issue and post pictures? Maybe some members here can help or verify the issue.

Yeah the drivers side rail is cut about a 1/4" shorter than the passenger side.

How does this manifest itself when the rack is assembled? Are all the crossbars crooked due to the mounting holes being shifted? Does the front fairing not sit correctly because the length vs. anchor points is off? Or is it a cosmetic problem that doesn't affect assembly? Pictures showing what is incorrect and how it affects assembly would help other members too, so they know what to look out for.

I finally got an email stating that my second package has left Venezuela and will be at my front door in a few days. I will believe it when I see it.

The first of my packages arrived today in the smaller box. I took a quick peek to confirm that they were indeed the crossbars/tray/fairings etc. But I didn't open it up all the way to do an inventory check. They do appear to be bare metal as requested, and all were shrink-wrapped individually. I didn't see any surface rust, we'll see when I have more time to check it out.

Second package is still on hold in Colombia (Bogota FedEx facility). Hopefully everything is finalized soon so I can begin test-fitting and then coating.

Good luck I’ve been waiting over 1 month. Barely got one today. No sign of the second. Very little communication from company. Not very happy about the transaction thus far. Def would have gone with a different company.

Eh, I knew what I was getting into. I don't mind waiting to get this thing together, even with the pains. Here are the reasons why:

1. It's made out of brake-formed steel, which is a lot stronger than flat waterjet pieces (planar geometry) or extruded bars (i.e. Prinsu, Southern Style, etc.).
2. It was about half the price of similar full length racks.
3. It's helping fabricators in Venezuela's economy make real money instead of relying on their current hyperinflated bolivar. Seriously, the citizens of that country are going through a nightmare at their government's hands.
4. Plain and simple, I think it's the best looking rack on the 5th gen. Low profile and strong as hell. Some of the other stuff they fabricate at EcoTechne looks weird (sliders, ladder, truck bed bars, etc.) but this rack is refreshingly conservative.
5. It's not accessory friendly, unless you can drill and fabricate mounts yourself. I don't mind this in the slightest, I like making my own stuff.

Believe it or not, mine arrived today after a missed delivery on Wednesday. All about a month after paying Rorck.

I still haven't opened everything to make sure I have a full inventory, but I have a guess as to why the powdercoating on these things suck. Mine are bare metal, but if they are the same as the coated ones, there's a prep problem: other than some deburring and flash cleanup, most of the surface scale is still on the sheetmetal. Powdercoat will never stick to that stuff reliably, which is why I'm going to blast and coat them here.

Got my second package finally. I was wondering, all 4 of my brackets are the same size. I thought there were smaller ones for the front? Also, I thought V3 they broke up the side rails into 4 pieces, mine came as 2 solid rails. Not *****en, just curious.

I thought some racks looked different as well, until I realized that some of the pictures I was looking at are for 4th gen Runners and I think that's where some confusion came from. As far as I know these are just V2, different light bar mounting and the side rails appear to be slotted for more crossbar adjustment.

I appear to have everything I ordered except for the attachment brackets. I'll double check but if they were in the long box they're probably gone, that thing showed up with huge holes punched in it.

Got my first box last weekend, was the side bars and what looks like cross bars. Still waiting on second package which arrived in ny, ny today, which should be the fairings and the extra piece included. The very rear of my side bars one side is bent inwards a little, but overall they look to be really durable and I love the look of them. Can’t wait to get these installed.

The brackets were in my long box, so it sounds like they fell out the hole in your box. That sucks!

In order to get it to attach to the roof, the mounts have to be raised and unbolted about a 1/2" from the roof... which... well would you put it on your roof to use it?

They were shrink-wrapped inside one of the side rails luckily! All good. So I will begin detail working the parts soon, checking final fit and finish. Then sending off for sandblasting/etching before powdercoat.

Are your mounts different sizes? In the instructions it mentions smaller mounts in the front and larger in the rear. But, it seems that they are all the same size now. Your mounts look very different from mine.

I agree that adding 1/2" spacers in order to make the holes line up would not be ideal.

Does the passenger side fit the roof contour with mounts lining up properly?
