Well this is the first test run. Don't mind the bunched fabric, since it was just to check the stitch pattern my wife didn't bother too much with the tension.
The r in .org definitely isn't my favorite, but I think that it would be better if the image wasn't 30mm x 67mm. I think the stitch digitizer would do a better job with an enlarged image instead of having a machine enlarge it, but my experience is pretty limited.
Is the lidz service enough you could be a $3 hat as a test run?
Thoughts?

I thought the .jpg file I sent was very large - is the size of that file the issue? What's the ideal size? Now I'm thinking maybe Gmail resized it. I'll check later today.

Here's the finished hat. Two issues:
1. The T4R logo is a bad fit for this particular hat because the logo is wider than it is high. At the original aspect ratio and 3" wide, the logo only could have been 1" high and still fit in the center. So I had them take off the aspect lock and make it 1.6" high, which is a bit distorted but probably not enough to be noticed by anyone but anal visual perfectionists like me. ;-)
2. The Lids Locker Room person who did the hat said the digitized file was on the rough side (note right side or the top "R" and left side of the "G," and this is after the guy spent 10 minutes cleaning it up with a seam ripper.
That's no knock on you, [MENTION=84643]JBurt[/MENTION] - you were doing this free and not on professional equipment so please don't take that as criticism or being ungrateful. As busy as everyone is, your time and effort is truly appreciated.
I'm happy with the hat because I never wanted it for anything more than knocking around in the 4R or working around the house.
If anyone else wants one, my suggestion would be to see if there's enough interest to collect the $50 it typically takes to get the image digitized and go from there, and to find a hat where it can be centered at a larger size. Thoughts?

No offense taken. I agree with your thoughts. I noticed it was rough on the smaller file also, but I thought that might work better on something bigger. I'm glad you posted that. I think I can get something marginally better.
Cleaning it up with a seam ripper works, but it is super tedious work and you have to be very careful.
Overall I think it looks great for a wrenching/around the house hat. I don't think the aspect ratio looks bad, and I wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't mentioned it.

eace:All right guys I digitized the logo into a .DST file. Who do I send it to? The file can be used on anything..Hats,shirts,bags, really anything and don't let them tell you otherwise. It's about 8,000 stitches. My suggestion to your Embro people if you have them sew on shirts or light fabric is no less than 2 pieces of backing and tell them to use "solvie" ...they should know whats up..
