And your long gun? Not every scenario is appropriate for a handgun when you're alone in the wild (good against people, but not so much for varmints). I usually recommend some sort of AK/SKS or pump shotty (not an auto) for alternative scenarios (hogs, bears, coyotes, etc).
I ALWAYS carry a trunk/truck gun with me no matter where I'm going. Urban threats can be just as serious as remote ones. (Note: As a former EP/SS worker, the only time you should EVER respond with force is if the bullets are heading in your direction. Otherwise, don't get involved and be a good witness. This is the hardest thing for people to accept as everyone wants to be a hero.)
I, for one, will state right here and right now: my biggest concern in the black of night are of the 2-legged upright variety threats. I'll just as soon let a pack of 12 wolves run through my camp before a human.
Yeah, I'm weird...but that's just me
Can't even begin to imagine what that horror scenario was like.
I think human population is getting out of control.
Sorry to deviate from the topic.
No we need to talk about this type of stuff ask me anyway three types of people in the world sheep sheep dogs and wolves this family met a wolf too bad didn't have a sheep dog around to help them.
