Engine Compartment Same as FJ?

are the engine bay placement very similar to the Fj cruisers?

i went on www.urdusa.com and selected 08 4runner and it showed the injen intake for my car. although it says its for the fj cruiser and no word of the 4runner. from the installation notes it looks almost the same to my 08 4runner. im considering on getting the INJEN PF Intake or the AFE/TRD CAI. any suggestions?

yeah. FJ cruiser/Tacoma/4runner all have the same engines. but when lookin for parts for a tacoma...they are completley different with the 4runner. but from what i heard most aftermarket for the Fj fits the 4runner.

That is false, the 4R and GX have optional V8's.

why not just get a trueflow xdi intake, that injen has oo many parts and screens to move to maintain a clean filter.

Consider this the TRD Intake for the 4.0 will work on fj, tacoma, and 4runner, so every other intake should be the same.

In support of the engine discussion and extra tidbits:

The 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Tacoma and Tundra all the have the same V6. This V6 is not found in any Lexus models as of today.

The 4Runner, Tundra, Sequoia (the Toyotas if so equipped), GX470 (and previous gen Land Cruiser and LX470) all share the same 4.7 V8.

my mistake. jesus people keep finding reasons to post lil things lol. o well i emailed injen and they dont know if it fits due to the fact that havent taken in a 4runner to mess with. so they dont know either. i already order the trueflow XDI. ill be reseting my car whenever i get it. ill be reseting it tomarrow for my borla exhaust :corn:



btw for the xdi would i have to cut the engine cover similar to the injen?

Got my Doug Thorley Long Tube headers to fit when they weren't supposed to!:zoom: Whatever works on the FJ will work for the T4R too.
