Engine Swap

Has anybody there swapped out their 3.slow from a 94?...i heard a chevy V8 is the way to go...but im wonderin what size...and if anyone knows where to get a good one...without drainin my bank account...where that might be...(Ca, NV, UT & CO preffered)...thx...

also...this may be outta the question...but anybody have any thoughts on a diesel swap?...or would the power gains not be worth it since a large diesel just wouldnt fit?

I know that the diesel swap is a possibility if you can find the engine. Overseas the Toyota Hilux had a turbo diesel so if you can find a 3L hilux engine with the turbo system that would be the way to go. Just think about the kind of torque that you will be putting out with that puppy and the fuel mileage wil be good to, well better than the 3.0.

Toyota 3.4, Buick 3.8, Chevy 4.3 and 350 are common swaps.

Unless you can do 90%+ of the work yourself and can get the engine and tranny for little or nothing, you'll need a hefty bank account.
