Ha you are driving a computer!
You think 20lbs on a 4,500lb SUV is going to be a noticeable difference?
how is kdss a pain with a lift? ...and do you really consider what comes with the TRDP a lift? KDSS is a proven technology with no history of major breakdowns. the reason they chose not to include it in the TDP is most likely to keep the price at a reasonable level.
Not to mention, if youre going to offroad the rig, the KDSS pump is right by the slider area which can easily be damaged unless you have sliders. That could be another reason why they didnt put it on their TRD Pro "offroad" model.
i dot know what toyotas' reason for it was, but i know I'm VERY glad i could get a 4runner without a sunroof or KDDS...
these were two things i was hoping to order my 4runner trail without and dealers were never able to answer me about a no-sunroof option, right about the time the TRD showed up without it...so that was that.
Pretty sure that was not part of Toyota's reasoning for omitting KDSS from the TRD Pro and reserving it for the "street" model only lol.
oh boy, you said it now...It's on every flagship Toyota SUV. Ergo the TRD Pro is not the flagship 4runner. The Trail Edition is.
oh i see, so the Pro omits KDSS due to the skid plate design?KDSS conflicted with the design of the skid plate....according to Zach Zwillinger.
Can you do this with KDSS?

I can do that with a '72 Buick. Not impressed.

KDSS can't run in the desert. It'd never work.
...Oh... and yes when Toyota had the option of KDSS for the Baja - it was on there(hard to tell from the video):
