*EPIC TRIP* Taking my Trail on the Trail!!

sub'd interested to see this trip. Maybe we can plan a meet up when you get to Oregon. I'll buy ya a beer to commend you on accomplishing your journey.
 
Everything coming along nicely picking up a few things here and there each day. I have two or three of these forums going at the same time I hope to consolidate when I get going.

I forgot to mention that I have been planning this trip for 4years+ and decided last mo th to finally just doit. On March 17th I was in a motorcycle accident that nearly killed me luckily it didn't. Thanks to proper gear and guardian angels I got 4 broken ribs, collapsed lung, internal bleeding, and collarbone broke.

Anyways I have been trying to recover thus the reason for leaving later than planned.

Here's a quick throw together I did the other night. What you can't see in the pic is I cut some screen and attached it with magnets I will shoot another pic soon

I used my Togo stove to heat up some wings and made some coffee this morning all is well with it

Seems like your passing around Amarillo in Texas on the map you posted. Check out Palo Duro State Canyon just 30 mins south of Amarillo. Its a great place to see.
 
Sounds really cool, and a big trip to bite off. I'm sure that you will make life long memories. I'm in Columbia too, when you get back we should hit Gulches over the summer.
 
OK so this morning I packed up everything and did a final check. The only thing I have to do now is pack my clothes.

Here is how I will be traveling

I reached out to Smittybilt and tried to gain a rooftop tent and rack but the marketing Dept took over three weeks and still no answer so I guess thats a no go!!

I'll be following along this one. I've made the trip on a dual sport but would love to take my 4Runner one day. What are you using for GPS? Are you following Sam's Correro's route or are you making your own?

I'm following Sam's GPS files. From what I can see seems like it's always on the outskirts of little towns is that safe to say??

Too much to worry about. The blue one in the pic is my wife's they would both go ape shit and the red one is hard headed young with bad separation anxiety so he would tear shit up and be a handful and the other blue one would be ideal however she's gotten old and deaf and I have to lift her, with broken ribs that's tough

Any time I take my dog(s) on a trip they start getting anxious after a few days away from home. They don't do anything bad, they just don't act like their normal happy selves.

This is quite a first camping trip! Looking forward to following along.

I didn't even think about them getting home sick as well yeah that would be awful. I think it will be quite the adventure as well!!
