I visited both Black Canyon of the to Gunnisson NP and Grand Canyon NP, and they are really different. Grand Canyon is amazing, but so unreachable. It is so huge that it is difficult to judge the distance. Also, except for the rim trails, all other trails are extreme for backpackers.
But for me, Canyonlands NP is above those two. Canyonlands, by its smaller size, is more reachable and many day hikes or 4WD trails are more accessible to most of us. It is also a lot less crowded, yet.
No, he went on a trip in his 4Runner and used it just like a lot of people do, to off road, to eat, to sleep, etc and the 4Runner was the primary vehicle in the story. That's the trip. When he goes to bike week he will park the 4Runner at his home, jump on a Harley and go on another adventure that does not involve the 4Runner in any shape, way or form and a Harley will be the vehicle the adventure is built around. If we didn't keep things 5th gen 4Runner related here then you would be reading threads like "My New Jordans Don't Match My T-Shirt." Understand now?
Because this is a 5th gen 4Runner forum.
Yes, you feel very strongly against seeing Harley pictures at the end of his Adventure thread. Pretty easy to understand boss. If you'd like to be condescending to this post too please feel free to send me a PM.
SirwillySC, I'll find you on your other social media. Excited to see your next adventure.

The other thing 1engineer mentioned earlier is that after the summary the post will be moved away from being a sticky. At that point SIRWILLYSC can post whatever he wants within reason just like the other build and adventure threads. It just doesn't need to be front and center any more.
Ha-ha both!!! I whisled and I was told about a speakeasy here that has the best Steak everThat steer's expression is priceless...either you were doing something "unnatural" around him or he knows you are eating one of his kin for dinner...lol!
From there I was off!!! I traveled through what I think to be some of the prettiest scenery I have ever seen or could ever imagine!!
I have wanted to see the West for a LONG time but I really don't think you can compare to the Southeast at Spring time!!

I have really enjoyed following this thread which took you to places very familiar to me. I am curious if the above comment you made on Day 2 still applies?
You know it's funny you ask because I was thinking about that just yesterday. I have put some thought into it and I have determined that each place has its very own unique beauty. The West is very beautiful.I have really enjoyed following this thread which took you to places very familiar to me. I am curious if the above comment you made on Day 2 still applies?
DAY 30
Today I traveled through the valley of the Gods at sunrise which was awesome. From there I went to Albuquerque for a Toyota dealer and a hotel. I found a great dealer who worked me right in and only took about an hr. All American Toyota was the name I believe they were awesome. I spent some time talking with a women in the lobby from the area and she told me about a spot to check out for off roading and swimming. I will check those out tomorrow. I'm getting ever so anxious to get home. I miss my ol'lady and the dogs terribly. I only have 1900 more miles!!! That's not alot when you've already done almost 10k. I found the Best Western Airport Inn and pains $70 for a room, upon arriving I asked if o could upgrade to a Jacuzzi suite for only 20 bucks the guy said only 10 so guess what I got? This place is actually really nice. Of all the hotels I have stayed in, ever, this is probably one of the nicer ones. Everything is very clean, pool and Jacuzzi outside is nice and the have free snacks at 5. After I get out this hot tub, the outside one, I plan to wash my clothes, find a cool bar to go to, and then get some really good rest. Hopefully I will be much rested to make as much time and miles as possible tomorrow. I plan to be home Saturday hopefully. 1800 moles, at 60mph, 10hrs a day is 3.1 or 3.3 so I'm pushing it, that's OK cause that's my style!!
Till tomorrow, PEACE.

RioRunnerGlad to see you made it through my neck of the woods. I'm impressed with your American Toyota service time.... I can schedule an oil change a week in advance and still sit down there for two hours!! lol. You didn't have a chance to check out the Rio Puerco Trails west of ABQ did you? There are TONS of trails and obstacles to play on out there, and only about 20 minutes from my house!
