European side marker lites.

How difficult is it to set up side marker lites like our Asia friends have? The wires for the turn signal mirrors must be right there. Have any of you done this???

Wow!! 130+ of you read this but noone has an idea on it. I thought I saw a partail thread somewhere about trying this. The turn signal wires must be there someplace. Have any of you changed out your limited mirrors and worked with the turn signal wires? curious

It should be fairly easy, as long as you're willing to drill a hole into your body and run the wire's to the exsisting turn signal wires or running light wires....I don't know if splicing into your turn signals will set them off to blink faster due to them thinking there is no load, like a bulb is out or something...but should look pretty cool, let us know...

there are some write ups on yotatech.its in their facts(3rd gen). it is very easy and you just need a steady hand with the dremel. some sidemarkers come with a template or you can make your own, As far as wiring i would recomend to tap into the front blinker lights, that way you dont have to weatherseal a wire from the door jamb. there is no wiring in the door for the signals. the muth mirrors instructions show where to tap on the interior.

i tried to get the japenese oem sidemarkers for my 04 and carson or partznet couldnt get them. But never order anything from partznet.

thanks guys, this is something I always wanted to do. So these side markers are just 'turn signals', thats cool. I will see where to get them. Don't want to end up with VW markers.

I wonder if all toyotas use the same marker light?? will check with my dealer. OH, I asked about touch-up paint for my graphite sport step-tubes. (2007 SE). They do not have paint for it, just out of luck I guess. seems stupid to me.
