Hi all, looking for some opinions.
I just picked up a new OEM Toyota mini header to upgrade my old cast iron one on my 3rz. A close inspection showed some irregularities in the mating surfaces which mate to the engine.
The 3rz header has 2 flanges, one for cyl 1-2 and one for cyl 3-4. The 1-2 flange looks nice and flat and true. No issue. The Flange for cyl 3-4 is not as good. A straight edge shows some roll off in front of cyl 3 port and the worst spot behind the cyl 4 port. This spot is visible and measures around .02'' with a feeler gauge. What bothers me the most is that this low spot extends right into the exhaust port.
I am afraid the thin Toyota OEM gasket will not seal this gap and I will develop a leak. Is this within acceptable tolerances for an OEM part? If they can get the front one perfectly flat then surely the back one could be flat too?
Would you put it on?
Thanks
