exhuast system troubleshooting. need help !

Hi everyone !

so I continue my battle with my exhaust system problems .

couple months ago I got check engine and traction control off ligets . I have scanned the codes and pop ups p0430 and p0420 . my passenger manifold was leaking so I remove it ,welded the cracks and put it back . problem exist i also noticed that my driver side is leaking too so I got one of these from pacesetter and just installed it yesterday wich is took me 8 hours (pain in the ass)
today check engine pop up with new codes

p0133 and p0430

what is causing the problem now ? there is no leaks at all . should I get new up stream sensors for both manifolds or should I get all four new sensors ?

You installed a Pacesetter manifold? Did you remove the OEM cat when you installed that?

of course.
pacesetter manifold comes with new cat assembled on it .
The oem manifold is on passenger side but is not leaking
car has 130 000 kilometers

I'm not familiar with the specific Pacesetter part, that's why I was asking if the OEM cat is still in place. Since you've changed it out with an aftermarket one, that might be causing the CEL. If it's a high-flow cat, it's very likely your problem. P0430 is a cat inefficiency error. Meaning, the cat isn't converting enough exhaust - very often the case with high-flow cats (it's the delta in readings between the upstream and downstream o2 sensors). I'm not sure if the T4R compares each bank to each other, but if so then that could cause a problem as well since a high-flow cat won't be converting exhaust the same as an OEM cat.

Either way, here's my suggestion: Get another Pacesetter manifold to replace the repaired OEM manifold on the other side, and put in o2 sensor spacers to reduce the readings from the downstream sensors. With high-flow cats, the spacers might give OEM-like readings.

Thanks for reply ! Do you know what 02 sensors parts numbers are ? I'm going to order denso sensors from amazon but I can't find the part number for my 4runner .

does o2 spacer doesn't make a problems with fuel consumption ?

I'm not sure what the part numbers are but you can probably look them up on the websites of Advance Auto or Pep Boys. They're each doing 30% off your whole order right now.

When you put spacers on the downstream o2 sensors, it moves the sensors out of the exhaust flow, reducing the readings the sensors take. This makes it seem like the cat is converting more exhaust than it is, making the computer think the cat is more efficient than it is.

I don't think MPGs would be effected by the readings.

They're pretty generic items so you should be able to find them anywhere.
