There are two types of service contracts - "named component" and "exclusionary."
Named component only covers items that are explicitly named in the contract. A common "loophole" on these is that the defective item must have the same name from the OEM as explicitly stated in the contract, otherwise it's not considered the same item and therefore not covered.
You want exclusionary coverage, which the Toyota Platinum VSA is, as this covers everything except those listed in the "not covered" disclaimer. This is obviously a lot more comprehensive and the desired coverage.
