Here is a work in progress. We are trying to figure out how to make the Tube bumper for the 5th gen and 4th gen with filler PCs. Here is my 5th being test fitted with a Rocktek bumper. We are moving the arms up and adding a top plate (like the FJ bumper). If we get time this weekend or next.

Thanks man i appreciate it. He works out of his shop at his house does really good work and on the third day he had my car it was done and coated. The heck with waiting 6 months for shrockworks, 3 days sounded better to me and i designed it.

any plans to adapt a winch mount into it? I love the look of yours but I feel its lacking a winch lol

It's got a hole for one just don't have funds yet cause I'm piecing together a bigger lift right now. It's behind my tag just gotta get one to put in there

tricky tricky you are with your tag hidden winch area (roll tide!)

I'm in the same boat I have a bumper on order (wasn't gonna be feasible for me to fab my own even though I have the resources I lack the free time with night classes and a 40 hour work week) But I won't be able to drop a winch into it for a few months when the budget comes back. Even then it will likely be a used winch.

Al little update

Here's a little update of where I'm at on my winch bumper. Still have to do 4 more skid sections, get my winch plate welded on, cut my LED rectangles and my winch access holes, and bend my stinger hoop Finish fully welding everything grind a bit and get er PCd

Next update should be finished product sometime this weekend!

Building a template for my front bumper tomorrow morning with my buddy.

He has access to a CNC plasma cutter, so we are designing my prototype, then we will start selling them over the summer I hope!

Post some pics! Mine was all one off....you will not see anyone with a rear bumper on there 4runner like mine.....at least not for now. I had a bunch of people behind me at stop lights taking pics with their phones.....kinda funny.

I'm pretty sure their will be people biting my design.....LOL:lol:

We are making a template out of luan then transferring to a CAD program. It's gonna be fun!

Really awesome you've got skills to fab up stuff like that. But the proportions of the front and rear bumpers don't match. As separate pieces I think they're cool but together, the rear is so bulky while the front is slim n trim. Good work though!

I would have to agree its more barebones in the front vs. the rear. I like both the front and rear bumpers, with them both on the same vehicle there is a level of unbalance.

The rear bumper is stout, boxy, very thick square tubing giving a sort of Industrial truck look. The front is a very slim, Baja style front end with no loops, thinner tubing for the bumper portion and a large flat sheet of steel in the front. Its a sort of minimalist front end with a busy rear end (I guess its the bumper version of a mullet? :lol: ,) as I said before I realy like the designs, the rear bumper is an interesting deviation from the norm and the front is a very nice Baja style example that balances protection of the vehicle, visual appeal, and weight reduction.

The rear looks like it has some sort of ground effects because it goes lower than the exhaust pipe. With the front looking more Pre-Runner and the back looking like a tank, it is almost like a 4Runner mullet....
