Got my new wheels. This is how they look sitting next to the stock wheels / suspension. Note that the 285/70/17's are taller than the stock front fender for perspective.

I just ordered my rock sliders from Stubbs Welding and I'm trying to decide on a body lift. Does anyone have any feedback on whether a 1" body lift will alleviate any rubbing issues or should I go with 1.5"?

Nice work. Keep an eye on CV Boots, those shaft angles look steep just sitting still, when pushed that far boot won't last as long as with stock setup. Again, great results.

I'm also doing pro comp wheels too. I asked the supplier if I should do the spidertrax spacers. They said it wasn't needed. I disagree with them. What were your thoughts?

They aren't required, but I like the look better. It does require some fender trimming and I chopped the front body mounts I have about 1" tire overhang from the stock fenders, but I don't mind it too much. I just hope bushwhacker comes out with some extensions eventually.

Installed my 1.5" Roger Brown body lift this weekend. Took about 6 hours after a couple hiccups. I did most of the work by myself with a friend that showed up to help hold the bolts in the cab towards the end. It was my first body lift and was pretty easy.

For those of you in Dallas and surrounding areas, I went to the new DIY auto garage Jack Junkies off of Plano Rd. Cost me $70 to rent a bay / lift / tools for a half day. Damn good deal and didn't have to worry about trying to do it in my driveway with a single jack. Just removed the nuts from all the body mounts, positioned the lift and raised the body just enough to install the spacers... easy.

I don't like the look of the frame rail showing below the body, but I'll have my new sliders welded on soon. I just wanted to make sure to get the BL done before so the sliders didn't get in the way.

I also finally got my SpeedoHealer installed and working. Really nice to get accurate speed / mileage / mpg's. Going from stock to the 285/70/17's I had to adjust it up 6.1%. I put the head unit in my fuse panel to access easily if I ever need and ran the remote wire through the dash and zip tied it to my tilt lever until I buy an in-dash button for it.

Stopped by our loading docks at work on the way back from lunch and snapped a few flexing pics. Got the drivers side rear off the ground. The tire tuck looks much better after the body lift. It now has plenty of room to fully tuck without rubbing. Sliders are going on this weekend.

I'm running the same OME front setup as you. I was able to remove my front sway bar and gain a good bit more flex and didnt gain much body roll on on-road driving just a tip if you were interested Truck looks great though!

Man, I'm having such a difficult time deciding on what to do about the sway bar. The problem is, I travel 4-5 hours each way to mountain bike races pulling a small travel trailer about 5-10 times a year. I'm just so scared to pull a trailer with no front sway bar.

Looks great! I work a half mile east of Jack Junkies. Haven't needed them yet for the 4Runner as it sits so high, I easily slide under. But when my Audi arrives and I start the mods, I'll probably use JJ since my floor jacks are all too tall to slide under the car.

Hopefully I'll see your rig at the Dec TTR meeting (won't be at Nov one). I keep saying "no" to the idea of doing a body lift, but yours may convince me otherwise. My challenge would be how to do it with the CBI rear bumper and Demello front bumper already installed.

Anyways...we need to get a group together to head out to Bridgeport to test out your BL, new tires, and the sliders.

pulled it 30 something miles, jumped on the trail with him then towed him back home.. no sway bar, plenty of control

It will feel slightly different no doubt but you adjust to it. you still have the rear sway bar which you may or may not have extended the links of so if the links are still factory your rear sway bar has enough tension on it you won't feel much change. If you extend the rear sway links you'll gain about an inch or so of travel out of the rear axle as well but still have plenty of on road control. The factory front sway bar is in place to counter the soft riding spring setup from factory. Once you upgrade to man springs like ours lol (there stiff as all get out i need a front bumper lol) the sway bar really doesn't do much because the preload of the springs stop the body roll before much pressure is even applied to the sway bar.

also its only 6 bolts to remove maybe take it off and hook up to your trailer for a joy ride an see how you like it. It's certainly a preference thing hope this helps I also have a 1.25 body lift and stay fully loaded with recovery gear an spare tire. One change i really liked about removing the sway bar is the ride soften'd up just a hair from how stiff it was after installing the OME springs, just enough to make it comfortable again. I still need to get the proper preload on my springs i'm setup to carry front and rear steel bumpers and front winch an dual batteries lol haven't added any of that extra weight yet so it will be interesting to see how well the handling is without the swaybar once I add that extra weight

It may pose some challenges to add a body lift after the bumpers, but may not be too bad depending on how their built / attached. I could help if you decide to add one. It would definitely be an easy process now that I've done one. I'm ready to hit Bridgeport soon. Life and other hobbies have just been in the way lately preventing me from getting it off road.

Good points. I guess I'll give it a shot. It definitely wouldn't hurt to soften the ride some. lol. I'm planning on a front bumper before the end of the year, but when I started laying out a plan of attack I realized how many things I needed to do first before the bumper so that I didn't have to change it up later... for instance:

1. Body Lift so bumper can be built to line up properly.
2. Buy '06 lights to move blinkers off bumper.
3. Black out lights before installing so I don't have to do it twice.
4. Do '06 retrofit satoshi mod / install to make sure the bumper has clearance on install.

The parts keep adding up! lol

Yeah I had that issue when i started building up my rig. I wasn't quite as interested in the cosmetic mod's as I was suspension and drive train until i saw some cool rigs on here.

I started to prioritize it by what i need most to do what i want with the truck so the first thing was lift. I knew I was going to be adding armor eventually so i went with the HD setup. I still didnt have quite the travel i wanted so I got the LR UCA's up front and then extended rear sway bar links in the rear and removed the sway bar up front. Also swapped the rear OME shocks for Radflo's 2.5 extended travel shocks to max out the travel of the rear axle.

After getting the flex needed off-road I was rubbing a good bit up front so i chopped the body mount and did the body lift. Then after hitting the trails a few more times realized i need some armor so i added sliders (still working up the budget for full skids, front/rear bumpers) I would've purchased the armor this year but i recently ripped apart my ring an pinion gears in the rear axle Knowing eventually i wanted to regear and add lockers so I threw my armor budget into front and rear air lockers, on board air, and 4:56 gears. Now I need armor so i can go the places my drive train will take me lol.

but now that I've got the drive train setup I can move on to some cosmetic mod's im a fan of the satashi grill myself but I plan to keep the 03 face. I'd really like to do a straight axle up front but it will be quite some time before i take on that project. I did the interior LED's that was cool lol.
