Will Shrockworks deliver these painted to match or only in black?

Black or Dark Gray. The gray is a semi-matt metallic and matches the gray plastic trim on some of the SR5's. It's a pretty cool color some people just like whether they have that trim or not.

Xterra bumper in gray:

We can do other generic color like "red" "silver" etc, but cant to matching.

If you really want it to match, get a body shop to paint it with automotive paint. You can either order it bare steel and save $100 or paint over the powder coat for added corrosion protection.

The manufacturer will always say that they're not responsible if you install anything on your car that didn't come from the factory.

Airbags only deploy under extreme deceleration (impact). The sensors will "feel" the same as you.

I'd rather stop the cow/deer from ending up sitting on my lap or breaking my ribcage.

Are you sure? Doesn't ARB specifically test their's to work with the airbags? I'm not saying the Shrockworks will interfere with the airbags just that ARB tests theirs to make sure they work with the airbags.

I don't know how modern sensors work, but originally, it was a metallic ball that closed the circuit if it received an impact with the necessary deceleration in the correct direction.

The sensors are little yellow plugs with a wire installed behind the bumper.

As a follow up question, where is the toyota 4runner airbag sensors? Is it located in the black box (measuring deceleration)?

I was hit by a drunk a few days before X-mas. He didn't discriminate on what he hit. Though I got side swiped, it was enough of an impact that my airbags deployed. If I elected to buy this bumper, I just want all the vehicle safety features to have no negligible impact to an after market product.

I think thats fair, right?!

The airbag sensors are located on the body of the vehicle and not on the bumper itself so replacing the front bumper with an aftermarket bumper will effectively keep the ability for the airbags to be triggered when needed.

The big difference is this though. ARB's front bumper is built to include the crush cans similar to the stock bumper so if there is an accident, it will crumple at the same rate as the factory thus triggering the airbag sensor with the correct readings. Any other aftermarket bumper which is not tested w/ the airbag sensors will not have this option. My front bumper which is all tube does not so the figures translated by the airbag sensors may not be as accurate compared to stock.

Now this does not mean that your airbags will go off prematurely. It just means that it will be more sensitive to trigger if you bang the front hard enough. Figure by the time you get into a wreck as bad as it will be, the airbag will deploy regardless.

Bottom line, these aftermarket front bumpers serve one purpose: Protect you from obstacles that get in your way (i.e. animals). For everyone else, it doubles as a way to add recovery equipment and increase approach angle. Airbags will still work unless you disconnect it

Maybe, me too. There is no way you can argue with the strength of the ARB Bullbars though...........they pretty much set the standard for off-road bumpers!

This Shrockworks certainly looks great, and is certainly strong so take nothing away from it. Coming from a guy who built one of the first leaf over FJ40

Ok, well this might sound like an odd question, but how well would this bumper hold up to pushing stuff around.

Say I wanted push a car out of the way or mow through a wooden fence, would I have any issues of this bumper rotating back an taking out the radiator?

I have a brush guard now and the upper supports are on the radiator support brackets, which seems likely to collaspe on any reasonable hit.

I don't want to sounds like a nut, but my 4runner is our bug out vehicle, so if the shit hits the fan, we can leave the area and I'd like something substantial on the front end.
