Hey guys! Well Its finally mine! After 4 dealers I got my 4 Runner just the way I want it. The last dealer was jerking me around giving me the "Oh, the GM needs time to consider your trade-in and yada-yada-yada. So I went to another one. Priority Toyota in Chesapeake, Va are thieves, they still havent given me my deposit back yet. Denbigh tried to give me half what my trade in was worth, and First team strung me along for a week before I ditched them and went to Checkered Flag in VA Beach. Great dealership! I called them up and they matched the "deal" that the others had quoted me. Walked in and drove "the one" and was set. So to make long story short made the deal and they told me the car was off to get detailed before I took delivery. Well my salesman (Cliff, great guy btw) said it wasnt done "right" so they gave me a loaner for 24hrs till mine would be done (they did the undercoating at this time also). Well my loaner was a SE 4x4 V6! Just like mine. Went in today and finalized everything. Great dealership! Highly recommended for Hampton Roads area! So yea, looking forward to lots of nice relaxing drives in my new T4R! Heres what I used to drive :

Congrats!!

If the dealership hasn't cashed the check for your deposit, you can always stop payment on it. May be easier than fighting to get the deposit back (although they still owe it to you).

Thanks! I am loving it! So quiet and smooth. My Z was loud and bumpy all the time. About the deposits:I placed it with my CC so they said I have to wait 1 month. The GM of the dealership isnt returning my calls  I will try my work phone tomorrowand give him a bigger piece of my mind :)

Nice Toyota! Oh, and welcome to the forum. You will learn a lot here.....trust me on that.

I also went to Priority Toyota (Colonial Heights) before leasing my '05 from a Richmond dealer (Haley). The folks at Priority were pretty pretty fair with the price and gave me an 'up front' quote with no pressure.....but wanted to add $399 for a "processing fee" on top of the price. Um, yeah....right.

If you are a member of Costco, I would recommend them and their auto purchase program. I was only able to beat it by a little bit by using a dealer in Chantilly, VA -- but it was not worth the distance to save $200 or so on the deal, so I leased mine from Haley Toyota.

Dealers in VA almost always want to add the "processing fee" to the transaction, which is nothing more than pure profit for the dealership. I have seen it as low as $79 and as high as $499 on some cars! I suppose they figure that 95% of the customers will never complain about it. How do those slimeballs sleep at night?
:bash:

But enough of that. Enjoy your new ride!!!!

P.S. To purchase a vehicle, consider Laurel Toyota in Maryland. They are owned by CarMax and offer excellent "no haggle" prices - almost $800 to $1200 lower than the best price I could find locally. The only bad thing is that they don't lease vehicles; only sales.

Thanks for the replies :) I want to keep this one stock as to not have any warranty issues like last time! I want to get Silverstar bulbs though, they made a huge difference on my Dad's V8 SE 4x4! Those "bull bars" look cool though. My wife was pleased that Im getting off the "Z site" (my350z.com) but she doesnt know Im here just as much!
Ha! Processing fee! The dealer that jerked me had $99 fee, but everyone else had 399. Priority was going to charge me $500 to get one of the 4R's from their dealer in the Richmond area! Screw that! Checkered Flag was a really great dealership, even though of their BS fees. The Costco program was what I used as the base price for my dealings. Worked out great!

Welcome to the forum. Your 4runner is a lot more practical than your old Z. I made the same mistake a few years ago when i got an M3. Not sure about you, but i found out real quick that i drive like a grandma! So, it was just not me. I went back to SUV...and enjoying the ride since, esp. when bad weather hit Houston TX!:D

Well, since adding a supercharger I def. dont drive like a gramma :D Maybe one on speed :awais: I am not too responsible though and need to settle down and get ready to buy a house. It was an easy choice!

Congrats on the new 4runner! I used to live in Va beach and heard nothing but great things about Checkered Flag. My brother had his car serviced there for years. He now resides in Chesapeake!! I was just there on the way back from MA (getting my new 4runner) to visit him. GOtta love it there this time of year.

Best of luck to you, you will for sure find lots of ways to spend your money here.
