Just finished clay barring the entire truck, including the windows.
Have not put any wax back on yet, but plan on putting at least one coat of on within the next week or so.

Here's some pictures after the clay bar. Very impressed with what it did!!

Fyi, when you clay bar you remove not only the contaminants but also the wax so there is no protection for the paint. You will want to get that wax on before you drive it so your paint has protection. Also sooner then later you don't trap any dirt beneath the wax when you do put it on Looks good.

You don't want some bird to ruin your actual paint. If you don't have much time just a quick liquid wax coat will give you some protection.
 
I try to clay bar and wax/polish my vehicles once a year. To do it right you clay bar and then wax/polish. No waiting, no driving around.

Kind of like pooping then wiping.

One after the other.

I don't plan on driving the truck till it is completely waxed with at least one coat. I'm a high school student and my mom works at my school, so she takes me anyways. So it will sit in the garage until all waxed up!

I used the Adams clay bar and detail spray, and purchased it straight from their website during their Cyber Monday Sale. It works great!
 
Before putting the wax on it do a hand coat, rub, and wax off using Meguires Ultimate Compund.

Then top with a coat of Ultimate Paste wax.
 
A friend of mine recommended Adam's products to me a while back. I've found it to be great stuff. I wish my 4runner looked that shiny!

You can steel wool windows too. Using very fine steel wool.

Adams makes good products, but I hate their wax. It generally shines well, but I've noticed it doesn't protect well or last long.

And FYI, if you REALLY want to make it shine once you're done with the waxing, put a coat of pledge on it. Yes, the furniture polish.

Not to hijack, but here's my paint after a dish soap wash, clay bar, orbital polish, wax, and a drive to work in the rain. I have probably 25-30+ hours of paint correction on my truck.

A high school student and you get to park in the garage! Wish I was that lucky.
My 4Runner sat outside until I bought my own house.

I've got a clay bar sitting in my garage. I will just have to wait on spring to use it.

Looks great! My dad has a 2011 Camaro and has used Adam's from day one, so we went ahead and purchased everything in a larger order to get some discounts. We used the wax on his car and loved it, hopefully it does the same for mine!!
Never would have thought about using pledge. I might have to give it a try!

My dad and I share the garage! My mom's Toyota is pretty beaten up so it got kicked out. I keep it washed for her though:thumb:

And you boot your mom to park outside! At least you are in Florida and there is not really cold weather. HaHa thats funny

What everyone else said, wax immediately after clay bar or all that work you did is wasted.

You and me both.
The truck for me is utilitarian and serves a purpose.
It is a tool and I take care if it like a my tools.
Make sure they are in good operating order and clean them off when they get dirty. I only have one tool that I spend time polishing.....but we won't go there. :lmao:
