Fitting Duratrac or KO2 285/70r17 on 2010 SR5 Wheels

Hi all,

I've read the stickies and did a ton of searching (on google and the search function here), but still can't find if anyone has successfully fit Duractrac or KO2 285/70/r17 onto 2010 SR5 Wheels. I know the req'd wheel width for the 285/70/r17 tire is 7.5-9", but wanted to see if i can get away with my 7" wide wheel.

I've seen a lot of people fit them onto the Trail wheel, but the wheel width is different on the SR5 compared to the Trail.

So, as the title asks, has anyone successfully fitted the mentioned Duractrac or KO2 tires onto the 2010 SR5 Wheel? If so, what other minor mods needed to be done to eliminate rubbing? (i know the inner fender mod is a must).

FWIW, I'm running Spidertrax on the 2010 SR5 wheel with a 265/70/r17 tire and i've already done the inner fender mod.

My guess is yes, considering several people have gotten larger tires successfully on the LE wheels which are also 7 in.

You should be fine, some shops won't mount them out of spec though. All of the people you have seen on this site with the TRD wheels (like half the members it seems) and 285's have done just what you are asking as they are also only 7" in width. The only 7.5" wide OEM wheels are the stock ones on the Trail Edition.

Edit: the rubbing and stuff is a whole other issue all together.
