Fixing the rub!

Like the title says..I got a rub that needs fixing. Bought a set of 265/70/17C LT BFG K02s. Mounted on a set of 8.5s. I am getting minor rub on inside of front drivers mud shield (not mudflap). I was wondering about fixing it with a heat gun as its only light plastic. Anybody know offhand what the softening temp is for the plastic? Want to melt and mould..not burn and fry! :yo:

I use an old hair dryer at the hottest temp. Also helps to use the end of a screw driver handle or end of a hammer handle to push on the plastics as it gets hot.

If the hair dryer won't get hot enough, you can get an inexpensive heat gun at Harbor Freight. The plastic will try to return to its normal position, so hold it the way you want until it cools completely.

Thanks guys. I have a small Milwaukee heat gun on order. Should be here soon. I was thinking about using the back of a spoon! Fun times...
