I recently acquired these FJ 4X4 shocks and springs from a member on the FJ forum. Bought the Dayster spacers and set an appointment with 4Wheel Parts for installation this weekend.. Am excited about the install, but I have a quick question. Which spring shocks go where? Thanks in advance for the help

Green/orange is drivers side, green/gray is passengers side on the fronts. I'm not sure if the rears are different, I want to say they are the same and it's only the fronts that are different.

The drivers side spring is longer so if you get them backwards it will lean to one side. I did this and there was about 3/4" difference, it was very noticeable. I then swapped sides and they are even now.there is more weight on the drivers side so the spring is larger to compensate.
jpless, I just had the same install done by High Tech Auto Truck Center in Chantilly, Va.
They did great work. Its was about $550 for install, and I had them do a few other things at extra cost.
Made a huge difference in my 4Runner. Handles and rides much better.
I did not get the Daystar kit.

I had my 4 FJ Springs and Daystar front spacer installed for $180 at Express Oil Change Service Center. If you have an Express Oil Change in your town with a Service Center, try to negotiate a price. I think I got a damn good deal. They also re-torqued all the bolts at 500 miles for free.

Are those prices just for the install of springs and shocks? The install isn't *that* difficult, even with XREAS. I knew nothing about it, and I'm not a wrench monkey at all, but yet I was still easily able to do the install myself, just needed an extra set of hands. I started to have a local shop do the install (just front springs and spacer) and was quoted $60. The reason I didn't have him do it was because he only had a bench mounted spring compressor and didn't feel comfortable disconnecting the XREAS shock. If you have an assembled front shock/coil from the FJ, then the install is even easier, I just don't see how shops can charge several hundred dollars.
JPless, 4wheel Parts estimate the price to be around 400. I bought the spacers from them last week and there's a coupon for 25 percent off installation. I told them I have a Sport Edition 4runner with Xreas suspension but I'm not sure if the rep understand what that is. What would they need to do when they install the FJ springs, shocks, and spacers?

installation should be a lot easier then if you're going to replace XREAS with your new shocks. shouldn't be much of a factor for the shop.

That's right, the install won't be bad if you're replacing the shocks as well. If you wanted to keep XREAS, extra care would be needed for the install, but in this case it doesn't matter. Click where it lists the lift/tires in my sig and it'll take you to my write-up on the install. I also link to several other write-ups. That'll tell you what you (they) will need. I'd recommend you taking a very close look at those write-ups, I think this is something most people can do themselves and save that money for other mods.

yea I think by the time I get around to it I'll be comfortable enough to do it myself. I found a local DIY shop where you can rent a lift for 22/hr and various tools at an hourly rate so I may end up doing that for ease. Not to mention that I can't seem to find my floor jack or torque wrench anywhere!
I may try to negotiate and find someone to do it for me, in conjunction with new tires or something but we'll see. I just dont see it worth $500+ right now, not to mention I can't afford it! I want to do it every single day though!
