Love the tent Reata! I like the popup hard shells so much better compared to the "canvas bag" types. although of course the size is a bit smaller. Looking forward to seeing it in person!

I don't know if they are down there for the Summit, but there were a lot more FJs then T4Rs. Most of the Jeeps I saw were the rentals.

Myself, 4ShoreRunner, and Joneseyyy met-up this past weekend to do some last minute mods and coordination. We're heading-out at 4 am on 14 July to meet-up with the Texas crew in Walsenburg, CO. It'll be a rough couple of days of driving, but my plan is to let you guys live vicariously through us by starting a new thread specifically for our trip out there and back. We're going to hit the summit then spend three days in Moab, then hit some landmarks on the way back to the east coast.

Throughout the trip I plan to let you guys track our status via my DeLorme inReach. Wanted to let you guys know that it seems the media has over exaggerated a bit on the fires up here. I am camping three miles from the Lightner fire and there is no smoke or anything present. The fires are bad for sure, but seem to be only affecting the areas in which they are burning.

Also gotta say thanks for your help again on the rear cargo LEDs - I'd post pics but everyone knows what it looks like by now. Everyone I've showed first impression is "holy ****"

I also just picked up the truck from Bobby's - I have 2 tshirts, about 500 stickers, good brakes, good balancing, and excellent alignment! Those LR UCAs make a HUGE difference.

Truck is ready! Hope this week and a half flies by!

Not sure which way you guys are coming across. Just a warning that interstate 40 in Arkansas has 2 major road projects and is down to one lane for miles and miles. They sucked bad and they took well over an hour each of stop and go traffic . On my current trip back to Pa. ,I only made it 504 miles in 12 hrs to the other side of Memphis the first day as the construction delays and bad traffic wore me out. On the second day in 13 hrs day I made it the other 788 miles back to Pa. .

I'm going back across interstate 70 thru St. Louis then down thru Oklahoma on my way back west. I'll let you know if it has any major construction delays too as I'm heading back west next Tuesday the 10th.

The fire in the Springs is the bad one. Lightner is a minor fire in the big picture. Pretty much everything around here is under control now except the Little Sands fire toward Pagosa Springs. Its 40% contained after 50+ days of burning.

However nothing currently is or will threaten anyone's trip to Ouray for the Summit. The overall fire danger is not exaggerated though. Everything is very dry and strict fire bans are in effect. At least the past couple days have brought afternoon thunderstorms that actually provided some rain rather than just lighting.

I did not mean it in that way, I meant more on air quality and things of that nature not the fire danger. Dry forest is never a good thing. We almost called off our trip up here from what we were reading about Mancos and Lightner then we got up here and both seemed to be out and no issue. My buddy lives in Colorado Springs, and that place is hell on earth right now. Everyone affected by that fire are definitely in our prayers and thoughts.

Just downloaded the Medano route to my Garmin 60!! I am pumped! Truck is packed except food, clothes and beer. I will get that all in on Saturday next week.

I took the seat bottoms out to allow for a little more storage behind the front seats, but dont think I will need it anyway. I did throw in a North Face fleece and outer layer just in case, but doubt I will need it. Downsized my toolkit some, left the charcoal grill out since the fire restrictions, left in the wag-a-bag toilet for my late evening constitution, fridge is in of course, and all the electronic gadgetry, GPS, HAM, CB, etc., is in place as well. about 40 litres of water containment, and my camera equipment!

Ready to rock and roll and meet my all my new buddies!! Jonessseyyy (I cant ever remember which letter is repeated so I will just stick them all in a few times), Limamike, Potatoe Launcher (and family), 4shorerunner and Josh, looking forward to it guys.

I thought you were staying at the Bed & Breakfast? Did you change to camping?
