FJ Summit 2012 in Ouray, CO July 18-22, 2012.

Not 100% sure as of right now. I'm going to talk it over with the guys, but I'll be bringing my rig for sure. And Yes, I-70 all the way over, not looking forward to the drive through Kansas lol.

Whatever you do.... DO NOT SPEED THROUGH SALINE, KANSAS. You run right through Saline on I-70 heading west. I got a ticket there and had to go back to there, lets just say backward town. Sorry if anyone is from there, really I'm SORRY for you.

Oh my gosh! Saline is where a tiny little rock on the hwy hit my windshield and instantly spider cracked all the way across. I think the towns just haunted lol.

I totally thought this was in May for some reason, sorry guys, I'm heading out to Ouray May 22, then going out to moab for 5 days. Anyones welcome to come join, hit me up if you're interested!

Well. last night there was only 7 openings left for the Summit registration so I went ahead and bought tickets.Brock or anybody else that wants to go ,get on the ball!

Still don't know the what,when and where of my job status but went ahead and planned on it anyway!We turned down their last and final POS offer yesterday. I have VC picked the whole month of July as it stands now here at AA .

Not many options on trail runs left but it will probably change once we're there . We can all get together for runs in the afternoons before dinner on our own anyways. Then night runs after dinner on easy trails if anyone is up for it.

Colorado Backroads and 4X4 trails book guide ...........
I highly suggest buying this book by Charles Wells as it has the trails for all over Colorado and all kinds of other neat stuff in it!


I also finally heard back from the lady I'm renting from in Ouray as she originally wanted to rent all 5 rooms together. We'll be staying here in unit 1 from the 15th -22nd. It's right around the corner and walking distance at maybe 500ft. to the Best Western.

Are you planning on stopping halfway? I want to start planning this trip for me next year. I will most likely be towing my FJ40 with the 4Runner so I need to figure out how many days this trip will take me. I wanted to go this year, but had vacation time already scheduled. :-(

Sure thing. The plan right now is a 2 day drive. Prep and pack the truck on Sunday, leave early Monday morning. Drive till the Salina area. Leave again early Tuesday and push into Ouray. Expected arrival late on Tuesday.

Ont he way back we'll leave Ouray on Sunday right after the group photo and do the same two legs back, although I may try to push to Topeka depending on how quickly we get out of the mountains.

The group photo is first thing Sunday morning (at least it was last year according to the 2011 schedule). I plan on leaving right after that in order to make the 2 day trip back home. I'll be driving back to Indy all day Sunday and Monday (and back at work on Tuesday). I think we'll be just missing each other. :cry2:

I've thrown some thought out about this before.. is anyone interested in a 4Runner t-shirt to mark the occasion? if so; any design ideas are welcome. Cafe Press is a pretty reasonable place once you get a couple shirts.
