Flashlight Mount?

This is probably a dumb question...but here it goes....

I want to mount a flashlight in the rear cubby. Are there any flashlight/mounts other there? Jus wondering if anyone has done this before.

I think [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] has, but he mounted it on the driver's door, if I recall.

Yep I have one. Made by quick fist. It works great and its extremely handy. My last off road adventure led into the night and I ended up having a whole bunch of mud/gravel stuck in my wheel (between my wheel and rotor). Had to stop and investigate - the flashlight sure came in handy!

I vote for the quick fists. I put two on the cross bar in the back side pocket, passenger side, parallel to the ground.

Whatever mount you go with, I recommend to make sure its got a secure locking mechanism. You don't want it becoming an in-cabin projectile in the event of an accident. I see a lot of quick-clip style mounts for both flashlights and fire extinguishers that could be dangerous in a collision.

Those quick fist mounts look pretty cool, I went with the Mag-Lite mounts like these.

The light clips in tight as hell, so there's no way it will ever fall out.

Screwed mine into the front seat mount in my 3rd gen, probably not really a viable place in a shiny new 5th gen though.

I used the maglite mounts and installed them on the plastic skirt at the bottom of the driver's seat. Fits perfect and is very sturdy. I figured if you're going to keep something like this in the truck, might as well have it handy.

Skip the light mount and get a Streamlight 88040 ProTac. 600 lumens, about the size of a mini mag light, light output of about 30 3 D-cell mag lights.

I used to love maglite, until I discovered tac lights, I have been full on nerding the f'k out on them. They are 10x smaller and 6x brighter than Mags "new" led line. This particular light runs on a single 18650 rechargeable LiIon, multi-mode 650+ lumens peak. It fits happily in the side door pocket almost like it was meant to go there.

They have a new light out, the M60C, that peaks at 2500 lumens and you can get a car charger base for it! Streamlight has the Stinger series you can get with in car mount/chargers too. You could easily mount one of their lights in the rear cubby and take full advantage of the power outlet.

There are many other manufacturers that have comparable torches almost all they I have come across are solid and most are duty rated (ie tough).

You will never look at a light the same way again :

What plate carrier/chest rig/molle panel is that? I've been wanting to do that as a budget alternative to the Cover King Ballistic Tactical seat covers but havent been sure where to look for an appropriate panel.

And this is oddly specific but has anyone attempted mounting a Streamlight Strion anywhere in a 5th gen? I was thinking the outside rear cubby hole cover but I also don't necessarily want it easily visible, if at all. I knew someone who had their truck broken into just for a Streamlight.
