Another amazing weekend with my runner. Now dubbed "Kevin" from the Pixar movie Up. Soo this weekend I was with Will Oliver ( [MENTION=144428]RockyMtnPhoto[/MENTION] ) and we decided to head for the hills at around 7pm. We went to Seven Mile Trail in Fort Collins, CO. It's snowed on us and dropped to about 25 degrees. The rtt was worm and cozy but getting out of bed sure wasn't easy. Enjoy the pics!

Random question here: do you lock your hilift to your carrier? If so, how? I'm installing the swingout on my bumper next weekend and need ideas for jack-security

I lock it through the spare and trasharoo with a cable lock! Not the safest but it's something to slow them down.

MAN! Great pictures / adventure Alex! You might already have noticed, but in the pic of the RTT and shovel, it looks like the wood shaft is split where it connects at the metal. I could be wrong, but don't want you to find out the hard way when or if you need it and it be borked. That looked like a blast. A cold blast, lol.

I did notice the crack! Not bad though, it has a long neck shovel head keeping it relatively strong still. Used it this past weekend very rigorously. Thank you free shovel!

Another trip in the bag. [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] and [MENTION=144428]RockyMtnPhoto[/MENTION] and I headed Up Kingston Peak to get snowed out then up Rollins Pass as far as we could. Great weather, great camping. Good time.

I shoot on a 7Dmkii with a 24-105 f4 L, a 50mm 1.8 and a 14mm C3.0 Cinema Lens for astrophotography and landscapes.

Another fun weekend in the bag! Went out to Cripple Creek with [MENTION=144428]RockyMtnPhoto[/MENTION]. Two nights of camping and 2 trail attempts, both ending in too much snow. Also added some [MENTION=144960]TOYTEC[/MENTION] bump stop extender doo dads. They work perfect. No travel loss and I won't be breaking shocks anymore in theory. [emoji7]

New things

So after a long time of not much going on with the 4Runner beside using and abusing it and keeping up with maintenance, some new things are coming.

First thing on the agenda is rebuilding the roof rack and producing the rack. Due to popular demand of my current one, which is garbage compared to whats to come. THAT MEANS YOU CAN BUY ONE. Its going to be the most sleek looking 3rd Gen 4runner rack (IMO) on the market and wont break the bank. Updates to come. The design is finished just need to figure out a few more small things for production and the first one should be on my truck by mid may.

To go along with the new rack, Im pulling my windshield bar and selling it, with the money Im buying a new windshield FINALLY! I also ordered one of these fancy 5W X6 series bars from Extreme Led with the dual switches with the white and amber.

That will go inside the fairing and be super sleek and look all pretty, also hopefully no more HOOD GLARE!

Along with the lights, I got my hands on [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION]s fancy new fuse box mount to run all my wires into, super cool. Need to bite the bullet and buy the Blue Sea Accessories for it.

Other than that, future plans are 285/75r16 Cooper STT Pro's or 295/75r16 Goodyear MTR. Cant decide. Neither can my wallet.

In other news, backed into a VW and destroyed their hood. No good. Gonna cost a bit of coin to fix but life is life. BUT on the plus side my bumper didn't budge, or scratch, or anything. Just have some of their paint on there lol.

Gotta get through finals and its ADVENTURE TIME!

It's a bummer about the VW. Excited to see the new things to come and I think you'll make a lot of people happy with the roof rack plans. Just make sure your careful with how you mount it!

I am super excited about all of these things! Those light bars are so neat and will go really well with the new rack.

Have you thought about vinyl wrapping the hood? Or part of it at least, for the glare from the light bar. That would look sweet.

You have 4.30 gears right? On my last 4runner I had 285s with that ratio towards the end and it was a really good mix, never really felt the need to re-gear beyond that. I think that with a bigger tire (even a 295) it would have taken away from how much I liked it. Food for thought, especially with how much we drive up those passes into the mountains.

I can't wait to see your new roof rack. I really dig the style of your current one too. It will be interesting to see your rig with the larger tires. Those Coopers look pretty cool. The Goodyears seem to be the most expensive option when comparison shopping for new shoes.

Both, its the original windshield so its pitted beyong belief and has a massive crack in the pass side.

Found a set of 5 on a local FB page for dirt cheap and they have only 3k street miles so I went for it.

Those of you who are paying attention may notice the black flares..... Did that too. Also spent some time painting the rusted and faded rear axle housing, front skid, A Arms, the front bumper, sliders and a lot of other random things that needed a little Black Boost! Enjoy some pictures.
