My 285s on stock Trail wheels barely kissed the fender liners, not enough to feel or hear but enough to see the rub marks. Once I put the spacers on I had to push the liners back, trim the bumper and remove my mudflaps.
Do you feel like you needed the Spacers? I bought some but after talking to some guys local they are telling me I dont need them and just to send them back and save money.

...Good luck - you don't need a 2.5" or 3" lift to add these tires, but even if you did that you would still need to do items 1 and 2 above. You can leave your 4runner stock and run this size by doing these 3 things.
They weren't necessary at all, I just wanted a more aggressive stance.

Did you have issues with getting it aligned? I’m being told that they can’t get the Caster in specs so I’m most likely going to have to get UCAs now....
OP: as many have stated before me, the extent of trimming will depend on your specific vehicle. Some have had to trim fender, do UCAs, BMC, etc. and some haven’t. I’m one of those that did not have to trim.
I have 285's/icon stage 2/3 inch rear coil springs and get zero rub. Have a 285 in my spare compartment as well.
Does the 285 fit on your factory spare wheel? Or do you have it on an aftermarket wheel? Thanks
Nitto RGs 285/70r17 on FN FX Pro wheels 17x8 +0 on stock suspension required mud flap removal, doing the TRD Pro port style bumper cut/fender liner mod in order to work without rubbing.
What is the Trd Pro port bumper cut?
It isn’t specific to TRD Pros, it works for any 2014+ 4runner.
Look through the pics here, some of the last ones in the gallery show you what the cut looks like.

baysta thanks for clarifying.
Although, brings up the point, I am confused with this is TRDP specific, these are all the same parts, dimension-wise. They even show a Barcelona Red 4runner in the TSB, there are no "red" TRDP's in 2015 apart from Inferno that is more like orange. Only the red one has TRD skid too.
Anyway thanks for the link![]()
I have a 17 TRDORP and put on Wildpeak 285/70 r 17 tires last month. Here is what I had to do - as others have noted 'it depends' on what steps you have to do.
1. Fender liner mod - move it forward. This takes about 15 minutes to do both sides. You will need to do this.
2. Trim bumper - this sounds way more difficult and scary than it actually is. Before you move the fender liner forward you'll notice it is somewhat lined up with the bumper. Once you move the fender liner forward the bumper will have about an inch or so of trimming that needs to occur so your new tire doesn't hit it. Do this before you get your new tires.
3. Mud flaps - I used a heat gun to 'push back' and reshape the mud flap. In all honesty for my 4runner this step wasn't necessary because I had no rubbing coming from the mud flaps, but I had the tools and did it anyway.
Once you do all of this you will either be happy with the way your new tires look or you won't. For me it all came down to the stance of the vehicle. I felt the tires looked too stuffed so I put Bilstein 5100's all around using the stock springs. The fronts were set at .85" and somehow the rears got a slight increase in height with the new shocks. It sits perfectly for my taste now.
