Fox 2.5 DSC install questions

We did, did everything.

Others that have installed this suspension on a SR5 or LE have had similar issues.. Fox apparently only test fitted on trails , nice QA guys.

I am not sure about that, my kit had no way to attach the resi mounts on a KDSS equipped truck. The newer install kit ships 4 self tapping hex heads. My instruction book was for an standard 5th gen but was very complete.

I suspect they hadn't sold many of these for any flavor 5th gen when I bought mine. When I called their support line, regarding the resi mounts and the hose clocking, they connected me straight to the shop. We spent some time hashing out the issue. The person I spoke with, I felt was quite knowledgeable.

Thanks for the feedback... I am exchanging e-mails with them now and will report back with any updates.

Nice to read about your issues guys. I'm sorry that you're having them, but it will sure help a lot of others on the forum.

I was about to pull the trigger on some 2.5s with DSC, but have been waiting on price quotes.

In my opinion, if I spend $2500 on suspension components, they should work right, come with excellent instructions, and be backed by excellent customer service. Issues like this are something I'd expect from cheap parts.

Looks like I'll be getting something else...

I wanted to update this thread to give everyone candid feedback to help with their decision making to installing a suspension.

My situation is still unresolved. I am waiting to schedule a time for Fox to take a look and implement a "fix". They did work with another member on here to ship his entire suspension, upgrade it and send it back to him. I don't want to mention names for privacy reasons.

If I could do it all over again, I would go with Kings or even Icons. This has been far from ideal. Fox has been in contact with me but they keep jerking me around for dates. They say June but no firm date yet. I will put in a formal complaint to the BBB if this issue is not resolved by end of June.

Basically if the truck does not have KDDS, the fitment of the sway bar is dangerously tight next to the coils.
1engineer it might be a good idea to add this to the sticky section of the suspension thread.

Hope this helps someone

After looking at your clearance issues - I think you may need to re-center your sway bar. I don't know how much adjust ability there is, but there may be 1/4" or more of lateral movement available by simply loosening the bushing mounts and trying to relocate slightly to the driver's side. Might solve your problem in a quick and painless manner.

If I move the sway bar, it will just get closer to the other side.
The passenger side is about a 1/4" of clearance right now, which isn't much if you ask me.

If I move the driver side as you proposed, it will just close the distance on the driver side.

I'd like to help if possible. I'm a former employee and live right down the street from the shop. PM me, I'm willing to personally go have a talk with my contacts at fox on your behalf, if needed.

It all moves together. It's a single bar. So you'd give up a bit on the passenger side to clear on the driver's side. .001 clearance is enough so long as it doesn't rub. There's a limited amount of physical space in which the spring will reside. The motion of the portion of the sway bar near the contact point of the spring will remain nearly static with respect to the spring as both move through the suspension cycle. I suspect very little clearance is needed.

The options for a fix are limited.
1. replace the sway bar
2. live with close tolerances,
3. relocate the spring mount locations, or
4. use a smaller diameter coil spring.

Which option do you prefer?

(You paid a lot of $ and have every right to expect them to fit nicely and have been test fit on the models they are sold to fit on. I have KDSS and the older Fox 2.5 fronts so I can't compare mine, but they fit without any issues.)

5. Is Fox add that little cup at the bottom of the coil like Kings and Icon have:

Sooooo finally heading over to FOX for them to make things right

Question to the masses... What should I inspect after I get the truck back to make sure they didn't F up anything else?

Ask for a before and after picture of the work. Say you would like to help others on the T4R forum who are also considering buying Fox or have Fox but have run into a snag.
