Nice!! I was looking into running the 8125's. Those are 8" travel shocks? Shouldn't you be running 18" coils instead of 14" coils then? I'm interested to see how they work out. What are you running for upper mounts or are you making your own?
Edit: I see you already have upper mounts. Where did you source those from? And are they 4runner specific?

To answer your questions
1) Yes they are the 8" travel version, I will actually be removing the bump stop on the shock stanchion. These are the short bodied version of the 8125, and as per my measurement as well as consulting the guy who sold them to me (Certified Toyota Tech) the 14" 650lb is perfect for what I have. Even 16" would be pushing it because of the minimal amounts of preload I will be running, I have a tube front bumper, winch, hi-lift, soon running skid plates and the 4wd conversion will add some weight. I am looking for L.C.O.G. in addition to maximum travel without LT. This is my mid-travel overland build. In essence, less preload= some rake + stiff on the road + plush on the trail. Stay updated on this build to check it all out. I always measure 5 million times and do it once... there's even a slight chance of running 16", but that's a stretch!
2) The mounts came with the shocks when I bought them... they are the Dirt King Coil-bucket mount for the 03-09. I double checked and they fit! I also trust a Toyota technician that sold me these. Same bolt pattern!

Awesome! That's good to hear that they are the correct coils then. The reason I asked that question, and I'm sure you already know this, is typically coilovers require coils that are 2X length of shock travel +2". Are these on Bilsteins catalog at all? I was looking about a month ago at the 6" 46mm 8125's and didn't notice any short body options. Maybe just in the 60mm sizes only?
I am running the short body 7100's in the rear though and they are working great. I'll definitely be watching this build. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I'll explain the method to my madness better! Collapsed length is 16" and Extended is 24". The 4Runner can handle around 20"-21" of extended length, that's absolutely maxed out. I will be running these limit straps at 10". Subtract total extended length on the 4Runner without stretching cv's from the total extended length of the 8125, and you have a 3-4" deduction in coil spring length! They don't make a 15" spring which is the absolute max it will handle. Therefore, running a 14" will be perfect in the 650lb rate to handle the weight of my bumper, winch, hi-lift, skids, etc. I don't ever plan on running a tube bumper so, 650lb is better than 700lb in my opinion.

I will actually be running the wheelers rubber bump stops, they're slightly extended and provide excellent control at full bumpSounds like a pretty solid plan. Is the 16" collapsed length eye to eye or including the upper mount? I'd just be worried about over compressing the shock at full bump with that long of extended length shock. If anything you can always raise the upper shock mounts to mount higher. I've been searching different shock dimensions for a while, trying to find the most bang for my buck. Here are specs that I have compiled for the front coilovers from different manufacturers.
