Front Hitch Mount

Just ordered a Curt Front Hitch. I plan on hanging my Honda 2000 gen set on it.
Also I would imagine the little extra weight on the front might off set a bit of the
weight of the rear hitch motorcycle carrier and thereby help level the Runner.

So what else do you guys hang on the front?

You'll definitely notice a difference. I have OME heavy coils up front and when I switched my wire cable out for synthetic rope on the winch, it raised the front end 1/4". Mind you, I'm already hanging a 130lb steel bumper on top of it.

I have contemplated getting a front hitch for a winch so that i can actually use from the rear as well.

I don't know however if a hitch has the same strength as a "properly mounted" winch on the frame.

Thoughts? Im fairly sure that it woudl be fine for somethings but may not have the same strength/ pulling power.

You need to consider the tounge weight capacity for anything you are going to hang on it. The Curt 31367 I have is rated at 350 lb.

I use it for my fishin' rod/cooler rack

Another thing to consider is up/down and side to side wobble. I use two turnbuckles on the hitch tow points to the rack to stabilize it.

Picture of stabilization. There is another turnbuckle rig on the other side as well.
