Front license bracket

I saw some other ideas on other forums. There were all sorts of ideas, some legit ones too. If you can, hold off on mounting your front plate, or at least hold off on drilling. I'll see if I can't find some of those ideas in the next few days and post them up. You'd be surprised at how many ideas there are out there.

You can build your own brackets. They're not quite as cost effective as buying the Skene mount, but they look better and they're pretty damn solid.

When I replace the front bumper, I might go that route, after paying for a replacement plate.

Hey skee, my lower front bumper only has a single nut on each side and they are farther apart than the license plate.

I assume you drilled 4 new holes into the bottom of your bumper to fit the custom bracket?

That's right. I figured 4 holes in the bottom/angled part of the lower bumper were better than 2 holes in the front of the upper bumper, not to mention my preference to have the plate down lower.

The decision was easier with the trail and the black plastic than it may have been if I was drilling 4 fresh holes through paint though.

I'm happy to walk through what I did if you're interested. It's not the quickest solution, or necessarily the most cost effective depending on how you value your time, but it was a nice little project with a relatively satisfying result.

I was very angry to find my brand new 4 runner with two holes in it. What i did was bend the plate at the bottom. Just below the numbers. I used two two inch bolts with a washer. it looks good. Toyota did not think this our very well. I have a 04 runner and favor her more than 2010.

I realize this is an old thread, but thought I'd offer an OEM option (2010-2013) for those who are required to have a front plate. Last week I came across a 2015 Sienna plate bracket that looked like it would fit, after matching it up to the bumper, contour was almost perfect.

Started with plate and plate frame mounted to bumper, remove with 10mm socket or Phillips screwdriver.



Only modification needed, trim tabs (red arrows) flush with ribs to allow bracket to sit flush when mounted to bumper. Tabs can easily be trimmed with a razor knife or grinder.



Insert plate into bracket, reattach to bumper with supplied screws.
