Front View Camera

I just have a question to ask if it possible to add a front view camera with the stock rear view camera that is already installed on my 2011 Toyota 4runner rear view system. Thank you for your time and have a good day.

I sure hope so since I just ordered the parts yesterday. Audiovox CAM330 Camera and LCDM40 Mirror with 4" screen. The mirror has two video inputs but I already have the rear camera through my nav so the mirror will be for the front only. Parts will be here in about two weeks. Looks simple enough .

Mirror also has speakers built in but no clue what I would use them for.

What do you have now - Mirror or NAV? If mirror you would need to change it to one that has two inputs and I don't know how many the nav screen has. Somebody here mentioned that Rostra makes the OEM type mirror but you need to confirm the inputs.

Thanks. For some reason I could not find it fast enough. I went with the LCDM40 since it has the full override. Just hit the button and it turns on whenever I want which will work better for what I'm using it for. It also has a few other features such as 4" screen and a 170 degree view angle. I won't be using the 2nd. video input or speakers unless I think of something to attach. Can't really see myself watching a DVD movie while driving. Maybe a roof top camera?

Its $ 199 from Amazon.

I modified my 4th Gen to have two additional inputs into the factory nav screen.

In theory you can do that to yours as well to add an input for a front mounted camera. Simply using relays, hijack the incoming rear camera signals and replace them with your front camera signals. Take a look at my write up and perhaps you can use a couple ideas for your situation.

I've been thinking of this for a while, just not sure where to put the camera in the front that can cover the front bumper.

Do you guys find a good spot in the front for the camera?

I do have some thoughts but will not know for sure until I get the parts and start installing. Will post when done - it it works. If I fail - I was never here and have no clue what you guys are talking about

My camera is located just below the front emblem.
