Frozen Rotors & Hawk Brake Pads

I'm pretty sure that the pads are different also as Partznet gave me the wrong pads last time

Got my part today and it's not only the wrong part, it's a totally wrong item!! They sent me a set of plug wires (wrapped in a box originally for oil filters) that are supposed to go to TX (I'm in IL). :bash: :bash:

About a year and half ago, I bought the right rear bumper cover from Mechanicville Toyota. I took pictures and explained to them that my car has the unpainted cladding. I even included the VIN when I placed the order. Sure enough, the WRONG item came. They sent me the one for the Limited that needs to be painted.

Why is it so hard to send the right part out?????
They really have to understand that their mistake can cause us a LOT of trouble. In some cases, my car isn't even driveable until the right part comes.

My goodness.......all this trouble for just pads! I was thinking of upgrading my SR5 rotors, calipers, and pads to the larger sport edition style from this vendor but I have changed my mind. Thank fellows for letting us know about your troubles here.

Guess I would keep everyone updated.

I got in touch with Partznet. They were apologetic about the mistake and the responses have been prompt.

Even though they have caused me some inconvenience, I still really appreciate their willingness to correct the mistake. I would still recommend them to fellow T4R'er.

From what I have heard of them, that is the kind of service I anticipated you would get. They seem to get really good reviews from their customers. The reviews gave me enough confidence to recommend them to a friend to get something for his daughter's RAV4. He had a great experience buying from them, too.

For those who had replaced their pads before, could you please verify if the part number should be 04465-35290?

I have a 03 V8 Sport 4wd (17" wheel). I would like to find out if it is correct before I start taking things apart. Sometimes I just can't trust their computer database. Thanks!!

You'll want to get the 17" one. The Sport Editions only come in 17" wheels and come with slightly larger front rotors.

What I would like to know is if you can upsize to the 17" rotors if you upsized from the 16" SR5 rims to the 17" sport edition rims?
I guess I am asking if one could fit the larger 17" rotors on the SR5 that came with brake calipers made for 16" rims?

Based on Toybox's post from January 12, I'd think that you need to change the caliper, too, not just the rotors.

I agree that you would need the new calipers as well. Plus there may be a different caliper hanger that you would need to get. But I certainly think it is possible to do it if you want to purchase all the parts.

Sorry about the late reply....

Because of the terrible weather we've been having in the Chicago area, I have not yet had a chance to install the pads yet. So I don't know if they are the right ones.

Once it warms up, I will take things apart and keep you guys updated.

Ok, I am in dire need for new brakes in the front. I am planning on buying the

Frozen Rotor SKU: 980161
and for the pads,
Hawk Perf. HPS SKU: HB490F.665

For the rear:
Frozen Rotor SKU: 96929
and for the pads,
Hawk Perf. HPS SKU: HB477F.610

This would be for the SR5/Limited, not the sport.

Can anyone confirm this?
