Hi all,
I’m putting my 1996 Toyota 4Runner 5 speed SR5 up for sale. I purchased this from the original owner and the truck spent its entire life in SC and NC, as a result, there is NO rust, the body and frame are in amazing shape. I moved to NH with this truck almost 2 years ago and it has been garaged the entire time I’ve had it, along with frame coating applied every season (just applied a fresh coating of Noxudul). I’m selling because I’m moving and am keeping my BMW. I've taken this onto trails a total of ~4 times in the +3 years I've owned it.
I have done quite a bit of work to this truck, mostly maintenance and all maintenance parts were replaced with Toyota OEM parts. Oil changed at 5000 miles or before with Mobil 1 and all drivetrain oils are synthetic 75w-90. The truck has 208,xxx miles on it, and most all of those are highway miles as I drive a lot. Below is a list of parts and features of this truck:
Maintenance:
- OEM timing belt and water pump (172,428)

- OEM upper and lower ball joints (172,428)
- Tie rod ends, front and rear swaybar endlinks (172,428)
- CV axle rebuild with OEM kits – both sides (177,000)
- Starter rebuild with OEM contacts and magnetic plunger (177,000)
- OEM valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets (177,000)
- OEM Aisin clutch kit (with pilot and throwout bearing), flywheel machined, OEM rear main seal, t-case seals, Marlin shifter bushings (181,694)
- OEM steering rack guide (181,694)
- OEM front lower control arms (201,200)
- Windshield replacement (208,000)
- OEM spark plugs (208,000)
- OEM tailgate window regulator replacement
Suspension/upgrades:
- Toytec springs/Bilstein 5100 front
- OME 891 springs/Bilstein 5100 rear
- Tundra brake upgrade with OEM pads and rotors
- Sonoran Steel adjustable panhard bar
- OEM rear e-locker axle, 4.30 gears, wired using OEM computer and dash light
- Toytec diff drop
- 285/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs (On Tacoma 16inch wheels now, not TRD team wheels)
- Savage Offroad full skidplate set
- Trail Gear sliders
Interior:
- USA Spec iPod integration
- Polk Audio DB 6501 front component speakers, DX 6501 rear 5.25” speakers
- OTRATTW light switches and switch bezel
- 99 4Runner center console
- 99 4Runner steering wheel retrofit

Exterior:
- Roof, hood, and tailgate repainted due to clearcoat peeling
- Kurt hitch
- Ditch LED lights with CBI brackets
- Flush mount LED reverse lights
- 30” LED bar with Slag Offroad mount
- 99 4Runner headlights
I’m sure I’m forgetting some other bits, but that is the main list. As stated, the TRD team wheels will be included at my asking price, but otherwise I will put on a set of split-spokes with the tires. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. This has been a fantastic vehicle and I’m hoping someone here can find a use for it.
